1. The movie is NOT based on a particular fairy tale, novel... So, they could play around with it and won´t hurt anyone.

2. Kronk was the highlight of the original.

The movie was such a let down. Not that the movie was awful as it is but it´s not funny at all.
Eeeh, I found the movie terrible. Bad jokes, a waste of talent from Eartha Kitt, almost no Kuzco, and the 90% of the film is Kronk moping about his daddy issues.

Where's the fun?
Yes. The movie is boring and feels like a waste of time. So, if you take it as just a movie it´s not meh; like a romance comedy that´s not funny but it´s just there.

However, as a Kron movie it is bad.

...and again, this one was of the very few (if not only) where they could have done anything.

In my opinion, some of them are really well written and animated.

The ones I liked were: 'The Tigger Movie', 'The Lion King 1½', 'Pooh's Heffalump Movie', 'Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest' (the best one), 'Tinker Bell', 'Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure', 'Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue', 'Tinker Bell and the Pixie Hollow Games' and 'Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings'.

And I still want to see 'Piglet's Big Movie', 'Springtime with Roo' and 'Lilo and Stitch 2' and I'm naturally looking forward to 'Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy' and 'Tinker Bell and the Legend of the Neverbeast'.

And I'll say 'Cinderella 3' has a great idea (from 'Twice Charmed', I believe), but the execution was disappointing. If the upcoming 'Cinderella' is sucessful enough, I'd love a sequel inspired by it.

The only sequels I like are the Aladdin ones, which feel more like continuations of the series (which I personally loved), and The Rescuers Down Under.

Strangely, I also find B&tB: The Enchanted Christmas and TLK: Simba's Pride okay... The others are trainwrecks, overall.

They said they came up with the idea without knowing about Twice Charmed.

Anyway, I like the Aladdin sequels, The Little Mermaid II, and a part of me is even fond of Cinderella II, for obvious reasons, it's the sequel to my favorite film. But Cinderella III I am assuming I would find to be the best of the sequels if I watched them all, and I, like DC Fan, think it is very, very good. I love it.

Going to get hated here but I prefer Return to Neverland over the original Peter Pan ( Peter just seems less of a douche xD ) and Pocahontas 2 over the original because no Mel Gibson

Also love Aladdin 3, Aladdin 2 not so much xD

Edit- Cinderella 3 is fantastic as well.

I like some of them. The canon ones are decent enough. Fantasia 2000 is excellent. I like it better than Fantasia.

The Tigger Movie is my favourite of the DisneyToon sequels, and one of my favourite movies. I love it to bits. I also like Piglet's Big Movie a lot. And Simba's Pride!!! I know it's not the best, but I was enamoured with it when it first came out and would watch it on repeat with a friend. So, the nostalgia factor is strong. Also, the music is terrific. It's a guilty pleasure for me.

Return to Neverland ranks high-ish on my list of sequels, but it has it's problems. I like Jane and Jonatha Brooke's songs. I watch The Little Mermaid II every once in a while, because I used to love it. It's pretty hard to get through now. Brother Bear 2 isn't terrible. Nita annoys the heck out of me, but I adore "This Feels Like Home." The other songs aren't half bad either. I must not be very picky when it comes to songs. :P

I haven't seen Cinderella III, Ariel's Beginning, or Bambi II yet, so I can't comment on those. But everything else I've seen I didn't like.

Yes, I really liked the original and thought it was a very unique, wacky film. It was funny and original without being a rip-off and quoting endless pop culture jokes (thanks, Shreck).

But the sequel is just your boring average sequel with nothing but pop-culture jokes. :milkbuds:

Otoh, I really like most of the Pooh Sequels. The Pooh Christmas movie is absolutely adorable, for example.

I maybe would've liked Peter Pan but I still find a Pan a douche, Tinkerbell more annoying than ever, and WHERE THE F IS THE CROCODILE!? He was my favorite...

I never understood why they make Disney fans SO angry. Most of them are utter crap but they didn't affect my opinions of the original movies at all. They were just something extra existing in their own bizarre realm of hell...I don't think anyone takes them seriously as canon.

I kind of liked seeing where they took the characters in the sequels, even if it was sort of masochistic of me. I'd love direct to video sequels for the newer Disney films just for something to make fun of

I liked it when the midquels appeared. Like, I don't ever recall a killer organ singing Tim Curry appearing in the original Beauty and the Beast. Thanks for clearing that up, Enchanted Christmas. (also, where was Gaston during all of this? I would've loved to see Gaston against Tim Curry, just for the lolz).

And it's funny how so many people hate most of the kids of the previous generation. Like Melody when in fact I find her more likeable than her mom at times (even though the movie is bad...). Jane's also a sweet girl, and the lion cubs are more engaging than Simba and Nala. Agree about the others though. Scamp, Esmeralda's kids, etc...Are really annoying.

Disagree. Although her arc was quite logical and compelling, she was still not particularly likeable.

I actually thought it was realistic for her to act that way, given her upbringing and surroundings. If anything I dislike how the movie tries to patronize her and tell her to not be concerned about the war. I know escapism is good, but the way presented it was too immature.

But the DVD even had a bonus feature about it...

Yup, it having that Twice Charmed bonus feature makes this confusing, but I read in interviews that when they first began making Cinderella III, they didn't know about Twice Charmed.

Definitively. The movie could have the potential to be more decent, but the juvenile, awkward humor clashed with the serious tone of the movie. And the octopus was horribly annoying. To it's credit, I really liked the score.

I've always wondered about what the sequels could have been if the original creative teams were involved; what would they have done with their own creations?

Like if Ron and John were commissioned for The Little Mermaid II.....what would they have decided? What if Alan And Glen had done the score and song? Instead of getting what we got in the end....

What has always been intriguing to me as well is the original version of 'Return to Neverland', the version with Kathryn Beaumont, before it was scrapped for the version we have now.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing, because they had finished their characters' stories. [Disney] sequels are never created with storytelling in mind.

The Tinker Bell movies are not sequels/prequels and therefore don't count as such. They're more of a spin-off series.

The Tigger Movie was not made by DisneyToon Studios. It was made by Walt Disney Television Animation.

Yes, they're prequels and spin-offs at the same time.
