Re: Your favorite "Frozen" song
Let It Go, I just love that song and it made me love Elsa and easily why she's now number 2 on my list of favorite princesses. The only songs that I didn't like are Reindeers Are Better Than People and Fixer Upper.
Favorite Animated Disney films: 1. Dumbo, 2. Tangled, 3. Frozen, 4. Beauty and The Best, 5. The Little Mermaid, 6. Cinderella
Favorite Princesses, 1. Rapunzel, 2. Ariel, 3. Sofia, 4.Elsa, 5. Belle, 6. Cinderella/Anna

frozen heart is my favourite. the visuals are beautiful and took my breath away. let it go [elsa] is next. i love reindeers are better than people... simple and cute, but serves to reinforce what was seen during frozen heart, and show the relationship between the two.

Re: Your favorite "Frozen" song
I'm glad that I held off listening to these songs until I saw the movie, as I wanted my first time hearing these songs is when watching the film.
It's tough to choose a favorite, as I like just about all of them. My rankings...
1. For the First Time in Forever - love the contrast of feel between the singing parts of both sisters, plus I find myself singing part of the reprise. And the instrumental version sounds better
2. Let It Go - a very close second, as it was hard for me to choose. Also, the most visually appealing of all. I love to see this portion of the new "Celebrate the Magic" show at the Magic Kingdom
3. Do You Want to Build a Snowman? - this really tugs at the heartstrings, as I did have a hard time holding it in
4. Frozen Heart - this along with the opening score, a great way to open the movie, making it sound very promising
5. Love is an Open Door - an enjoyable song in itself, but just ends abruptly, which I did not like
6. In Summer - a cute song when watching the film, but not so much when listening to it by itself
7. Reindeer Are Better Than People - also a cute song, but very short
8. Fixer Upper - the only one that I did not really care for

Easily "Let It Go" - it convinced me to see the film and that it wasn't just a weaker Tangled. It's not especially Disneyesque, yet it perfectly makes us empathise with Elsa's character and even feel a bit of the same triumph. As mentioned by previous posters, the animation is also very good for this sequence.

Let It Go for me. Idina Menzel is an absolute goddess, her vocals are incredible. I'm a sucker for power ballads, and obviously, the animation throughout the sequence is fantastic.
Re: Your favorite "Frozen" song
Let it Go is fantastic, which is my favorite song in the movie.
I will say that I constantly find myself listening to the reprise of For the First Time in Forever. The duet between Anna and Elsa gives me chills everytime.

Re: Your favorite "Frozen" song
Oooo I agree frankf3, where it climaxes and Elsa sings "IIIIIIIIIIII caaaaaaaaaaaaaan't !" That is chilling indeed.
I do have a question about Let It Go; the Demi version has extra lyrics. I especially love the part:
Standing, frozen
In this life I've chosen
You won't find me
The past is all behind me
Buried beneath the snow
Who wrote the extra lyrics ? Would love them to have been in the original version. I just wondered as sometimes the pop versions have deleted verses from theatrical versions; thought this might be the case here.
EDIT: Realised I hadn't actually said my favourite song!
First choice is 'Let It Go', followed by 'Love Is An Open Door' as it never fails every time I hear it to make me laugh. Which is a feat considering how many times I have listened to the song. And I think actually 'Love…' holds my favourite line in maybe all musicals;
I mean it's crazy ...
What ?!
We finish each others -
SANDWICHES
That's what I was gonna say!

Let It Go, definitely. This is my second favorite Disney song after Mermaid's Part Of Your World. It is just amazing. For the First Time in Forever comes second, it's just classic Disney.

'Let It Go'. Its such a masterpiece when you see it in the movie and just on it's own it's such a beautiful song. I also really love 'For the First Time in Forever' and it's Reprise, I'm a sucker for those "I want" type songs.

Re: Your favorite "Frozen" song
Before the movie came out, my favorite was Love is an Open Door. Now that I've seen the movie twice, the position now goes to For the First Time in Forever (though I don't care that much about the reprise), with Vuelie (especially the reprise) a close second behind. I also though Fixer Upper was a cute little number, especially the "people don't really change" part, which could apply to anyone out of context.
Let It Go... I don't think it's all that impressive. For that matter, I don't think it was necessary either -- just a powerful enough piece of score and Elsa's facial expressions would have been more than enough to convey her feelings.

Yeah, it actually has a pretty good message.disneyprincess11 wrote:Really though, besides the timing of the scene, what's with all the hate?

Re: Your favorite "Frozen" song
I don't know why others hate it but for me, when compared to the other songs in the film, it feels lacking and it already doesn't help, that I wasn't too big a fan of the trolls. I feel like the song unlike most others in the film just stop the story whereas others such as Let It Go or even Love Is An Open Door progress the story, while Fixer Upper stops the story.

Speaking of Fixer Upper, is it just me or does it sound a little like "Can You Picture That?" from the Muppet Movie?

Re: Your favorite "Frozen" song
I like "Fixer Upper", despite feeling a tad out of place, it's better than "A Guy Like You".
My favorite lyrics from the song are:
Is it the way that he runs scared
Or that he's socially impared
And
His isolation is confirmation of his desperation for human hugs

I voted for "For the First Time in Forever." It does so much story-wise while being REALLY pretty. I love when Anna and Elsa overlap. But I don't dislike any of the songs. Fixer Upper even has its charms. One of my surprise favourites is "Reindeer(s) Remix" from the bonus disc. I could listen to it all day.
