Ok, I realize I'm a little late in posting this (and I know I briefly mentioned this in the Frozen thread), but Rey finally took me to the theater to see Frozen on December 10th. And wouldn't you know it, I went into labor during the movie!

I actually did stay to the end of the film since I thought I was just having false labor/braxton-hicks contractions again, and I didn't realize how serious things were until I stood up during the credits and found I could barely walk!

I was also caught off-guard since I wasn't due for another 9 days, but to be fair I was warned that the baby could arrive at any time. Rey helped me to the nearest exit to have a seat while he literally ran off to the other end of the resort to get the car (with security yelling at him to stop running

). By the time we made it to the hospital my contractions were 2 minutes apart, but they talked about sending me back home because my water hadn't broken yet (which was hard to imagine with all the pain I was in).

Luckily my water finally broke once they examined me, whew! I was in labor for about 14 hours and had a relatively easy (?!) delivery the following day.
Here we are in the delivery room shortly after his arrival:
I've been joking that he wanted to come out early so he could enjoy the movie with us.

As you can imagine I haven't had much energy for posting these days, especially since I came down with postpartum endometritis a week after the birth. I woke up in the middle of the night with a high fever and was in a lot of pain; I spent 16 hours in urgent care over that one.

However, I recovered in time to have a great holiday with the family. Here's a photo of us from the night before Christmas when he was nearly 2 weeks old:
I'm still exhausted, but feeling better every day. And the little guy is absolutely beautiful and such a joy to be around; Rey says that motherhood suits me.
