It's BACK!! NBC Sing Off 2013 Discussion........

After almost a two-year hiatus, NBC has brought back "The Sing Off" show and what a welcome site on television.

Those who have never watched this show are in for a real treat. It is on several times this week and next, and if the ratings prove that there is an audience for this show, it will be back after the Holidays.

Ten Acapella groups sing for you votes each night, and one gets eliminated. There are different themes for each show, and it is always acapella.

Some very good talent on last night's show, can't wait to see if enough people watch it to bring it back after the first of the year.

Don't understand why anyone on this discussion board isn't watching "The Sing Off" on NBC. After a two year hiatus it returned last Monday night with 10 Acapella vocal groups from all over the country. Along with regular judges Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman, Jewel joins the panel for this Season Four with Nick Lachey as the host.

Tonight will be part two of the Sing Off show that started Friday night, and we lost one group then, and tonight after the four groups participate, one of them will be going home. Will then be down to the Top Six and this week's schedule of shows are pretty sporadic so check your television schedules so you don't miss a show.

Some very talented groups this year, and a big first is the first all-female Acapella group, and so far they are doing well.

Is any one else besides me watching "The Sing-Off"?

Over the past two weeks we have gone from 12 Acapella groups to just the Final Three, and the Season Finale of this great show is next Monday (December 23 at 8 pm Eastern/7 Central).

Of the finalists we have two really good groups who have been solid all the way through. They are "Home Free", the first country-western acapella vocal group to be on the show. Their choice of songs and their performance of them has been outstanding and they have raised the bar pretty high for the other groups in the show. The other two groups are "Ten", and "Vocal Rush". 'Rush' is a group of High School teens from Oakland, California and they have really shown a maturity that isn't found in most groups of their age. "Ten" is a Church Chorale group that wanted to show that they could burn up the stage with their performances and they have done just that for the past two weeks.

I hope enough people watch this show to convince NBC that they should bring them back for a 'real' season next year. With a host like Nick Lachey, and judges Sean Stockman (Boys to Men), and Ben Folds (Ben Folds Five) and this season's guest judge Jewel, it has been one of the best, and quickest rushes to a Finale that I have experienced. Guest stars on Monday's show will include 98 Degrees among a surprise list of artists, and the original twelve groups will also be participating in this Season Finale.

I hope that there are others watching this show. It is one of the better "reality Talent" shows on the air.

Last night's Finale of "The Sing-off" was a splendid way to spend two hours. The reuniting of 98 degrees was the highlight of the "extras" that were featured along with the three groups vying for the recording contract and $100,000.

After a cute duel by Jewel and Nick Lachey, the Holday-themed show took off with some great music, and surprise guest stars Neil Geraldo and Pat Benatar, along with the newly-reunited 98 degrees. Each of the judges took their turn with one of the three finalist groups and those were the highlights of the night before the last hour when the groups laid it all on the line for the title.

"Ten", a group of background singers who never sang together until they tried out for this show, "Vocal Rush", a group of teenaged High Schoolers who's love for Acappella music spurred them on to this show, and "Home Free" the first and only Country music group to appear on "The Sing-off".

Grand Prize winners were "Home Free", with "Ten" the runner-up. And the announcement that the show would be returning in the spring for its regular style of run. Can't wait for that.

Looking this show up it seems this short season at Christmas time WAS a regular style for them as two of the other three seasons were under six episodes in December. Not that it matters to me. I've never seen it.
