Fast & The Furious Actor Paul Walker Has Died.

Post by disneyboy20022 »

R.I.P. Actor Paul Walker, Dead at 4
TMZ.com reported the shocking news earlier this evening that actor Paul Walker, best known for his roles in all but the third "Fast and Furious" movie, was in a fiery car crash (unrelated to the shooting of Fast and Furious 7) that killed him and one other passenger.

Walker was reportedly taking friends for test rides in his new Porsche GT in Santa Clarita, when the driver lost control and slammed into a tree that sent the car bursting into flames, killing Walker and one other passenger. It's still unclear who was driving at the time.

The 40-year-old actor had been appearing in various movies and TV shows since the mid-80s but his real breakthroughs came in the early 00's when he was teamed with director Rob Cohen, first for The Skulls and then the first The Fast and the Furious. Walker returned for the sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious, but then bowed out of the series, returning six years later for Fast & Furious 4. That movie relaunched the series to the blockbuster status that it's enjoyed for the last three movies, while Walker has appeared in smaller, independent projects in between.

Walker was in the middle of shooting Fast and Furious 7 with Vin Diesel and new director James Wan and it's undetermined how much more Walker had to shoot on the film or whether rewrites and changes will have to be done.

Walker will next appear in the indie thriller Hours, a passion project of his written and directed by Eric Heisserer, that premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and was due for a limited release on December 13.

This may be one of the most shocking deaths in recent memory, reminding us of the death of Heath Ledger months before he would achieve his greatest success playing the Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. It's a huge loss to the industry, especially the popular "Fast and Furious" franchise, which he helped to nourish.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues.
Holy Crap. This is horrible, just plain horrible and shocking. How Tragic

What a sad way to go, we've had a couple celebrity passing's last few days. One of which was Jane Kean who was in the 60s Color Honeymooners show among many other credits, she passed away from complications from a fall but she was 90 so at least she had a long life. But 40 far too young to die.

Right now they were in the middle of filming Fast 7. What makes this even more tragic is that there were plans to go possibly to Fast and The Furious 9 and 10, according to Paul Walker himself I think. I can't think of a more shocking tragic death like this in Hollywood since Heath Ledger. I plan on renting Fast 6 when it comes out. I'm thinking re-writes might have to be made for Fast 7 now.

I'm just speechless at this. At first I thought this was one of those Celebrity Hoax things. Sadly that was not the case

What Happens to 'Fast & Furious 7' Following Paul Walker's Death?
http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-new ... 45491.html
The fate of "Fast & Furious 7" is up in the air.

Following the sudden death of Paul Walker, executives at Universal — the studio behind "The Fast & Furious" franchise — met on Sunday to discuss the future of the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Reportedly, there will be a delay in production, but the movie will not be abandoned entirely.

Production was on hiatus over the Thanksgiving holiday and was set to resume this week in Atlanta, Georgia, sources confirm to Yahoo Movies, but will be halted in the meantime.

THR reports "Fast & Furious 7" director James Wan met with Universal to discuss the future of the project, how to re-work the script, and "how to proceed in a manner that would be respectful to Walker's death."

Walker, who reprised his role as Brian O'Conner, had been filming the seventh installment since September.

Variety reports it is unclear how much of Walker’s footage had been shot, while The Wrap alleges production is already more than halfway done. Meanwhile, THR claims a large part of the movie had been shot, but additional scenes were to be filmed in January in Abu Dhabi with Paul and the main cast.

On Saturday, Universal released their only statement thus far following the tragedy: "All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the 'Fast and Furious' films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family."

Franchise favorites Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and Dwayne Johnson are all back for "Fast & Furious 7," which was scheduled for release on July 11, 2014. The “Fast” franchise has grossed more than $2.3 billion at the worldwide box office.

On Nov. 30, Paul Walker passed away at the age of 40 in a fiery one-car collision just outside of Los Angeles. The actor was attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. Paul's longtime friend and CEO of his company Always Evolving, Roger Rodas, has been identified as the driver of the vehicle.
