Id like a followup (short? sequel?) that would give us more characterization for Elsa & Hans...I really wanted to see more of them. But yeah it will probably be more sidekick stuff. I really didnt care for TEA...

only other hope is that we get deleted scenes or extended cut in the bluray...

I agree, Im actually looking forward to BH6 & Im surprised how much I liked Wreck it Ralph(since Im totally not a gamer.) Just as long as they stay away from making crap like Free Birds & Nut Job.

Films like those are why I don't consider myself an "animation fan".

Surely they were made by shitty Sony or Blue Sky.

Free Birds was made by Reel FX (the same team responsible for the CG Looney Tunes shorts) and The Nut Job by ToonBox Entertainment.

I also think it's unfair to label films one hasn't seen as bad. How do you know they're bad without watching them?

I also think Sony and especially Blue Sky have been doing some strong work lately.

Blue Sky have done very decent job with their films, mainly the first 3 "Ice Age" movies and "Rio".

I'm not so sure the same could be said about Sony.

While the Sony films may not be quite spectacular in their writing, I think no-one can deny the effort and craft that goes in their whimiscal, over-the-top, borderline insane animation in films like Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and Hotel Transylvania.

Saw Frozen today, it was alright. The songs all kinda blended together, the cartoony characters like snowman and the trolls were pointless/annoying (they stood out in a bad way), and I got really tired of hearing the "true love will break the curse" crap repeated multiple times in the film (we all understand how the cliche works, you don't need to get out the instruction manual and hammer us with it). What really disappointed me was how little I cared about the protagonists. It makes you appreciate Rapunzel, which suffered from being generic to the extreme but at least developed its characters enough that you cared about them. Oh well, the proceeding short was at least worth my time (also, for those asking whether or not to see it in 3D, I can say the short alone is worth seeing in 3D).

isnt it funny how back when 2d was the primary animation style in the 90s Disney was the only studio that was able to have any real success with it financially. But when CGi came along any joe shmo studio could crank up a film & it makes tons of profit in the box office. Im sure most of the studios not named Disney were very content to see 2d die...schadenfreude and all that...

I think the issue with the non-Disney 90s movies is that most everybody either tried to merely copy Disney's formula not realising there was more to it than just singing and funny, talking animals or the studios did a shoddy job of marketing the films (Warner Brothers was particularly bad at handling their animated films). Nowadays, the studios seem to make more of an effort to market animated films properly and the in-house studios are trying their own thing (however you feel about Sony, their films are vastly different from Disney's or DreamWorks' or Blue Sky's).

I think Toy Story started the trend by showing you could have a hit animated movie without it being a musical based on a classic story and Shrek showed that Disney wasn't the only studio who could produce hit animated movies (though Don Bluth did manage that briefly in the 80s, but he made the big mistake of splitting off from Spielberg).

Big One, I definitely thought Elsa's powers were a metaphor for disabilities! More than anything else, because of her interactions with people around her: not liking when others touch her, when stressed/afraid her powers get even worse, driving loved ones away without meaning it...

Many people with social anxieties have passed through any of these things.

Yes, that is one of the more persuasive interpretations of what Elsa's magic metaphorically represents.

In numerous interviews, Idina Menzel herself and the Anderson-Lopez (sp?) songwriting team have likened Elsa's magic to having an exceptional talent, a gift, such as a profound gift for artistic creation, or a gift for singing, etc.

How long is it going to be till she stops picking on this movie for existing ? Disliking something is okay of course, but she's just being overall infinity and beyond annoying.

When she saw the movie did Elsa pop out of the screen and harm her with one of her ice spells or something ? Because she sure has a strong vendetta towards it.

Ugh... I know that people can have their own opinions and all that...

But seriously.. She is going out of her way to diss Frozen.

1) MU is pixar, it will succeed no matter what. DM2 had the minions and had a major marketing push. So naturally they would do really good.

2) Frozen is a Disney PRINCESS musical movie. I'm actually surprised it did this well in today's box office.

3) You didn't need to mention Frozen's box office numbers when talking about Catching Fire.

She can have her opinions, I'm ok with that. But going to the extent of constantly bashing the movie is not professional at all. That review of her's should have included all the negativity.
