I don't know her opinions, but I think it's silly to cherry pick a random set of movies somebody disagrees with the consensus on and say their opinion doesn't matter. We all have acclaimed films we dislike and panned movies we like.

I like Dark Shadows, The Smurfs, Inspector Gadget, Spider-Man 3, Alice in Wonderland, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Hulk, yet dislike Videodrome, Mulan, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Matrix and The Secret of Kells. Does that make my opinions on movies invalid?

Your opinions are just as valid as anyone else's. However, if someone hated all the movies I loved and loved all the movies I hated, then I would much more likely not take his or her opinion into account when deciding to see a movie. In other words, their opinion wouldn't 'count' with me. I think that's why people do this with pretty much any movie that comes out they are looking forward to. But no one's opinion is truly more right or wrong or valid when it comes to movies.

I just back from the movie and it was awesome. It felt to me like it did come out of the Renaissance Era from the 90s. The tone, the musical part and everything was amazing. It really actually felt like a True Disney movie. This beat Monsters Univeristy in my opinion.

One big thing that was a great omen was of that Mickey Mouse Short. That needs to be nominated for an Academy Award and win. I haven't laughed at a Disney short like that in a long long time.

There is a scene at the end of the movie. Also when staying behind to see the end scene, look to see how they word the this story and characters are fiction and is a coincidence if what happens in the movie happens in real life.

It says that Kristoff's Booger's or any man's booger's are purely coincidental or something to that effect. My dad lost it laughing.

I just saw Frozen.

I can't say just yet if this is better than Tangled or Wreck-it Ralph, but it's very very close. The important thing is, Disney seems to have found their niche in the CGI roster. I will be very disappointed if this does not make a splash at the Oscars.

ALSO, the Mickey cartoon was excellent! Normally, I'm against re-using recorded voices for new projects, but it worked so well within the context of the story. I was able to tell which old Mickey cartoons each line came from..

Saw it this afternoon. I loved the story, the music, and the animation. I thought it was far darker at points than even I had expected, which was nice.

My biggest complaint comes from the runtime and the timespan the story takes place in. It felt too short. I felt like I missed a scene or two especially the fact that there was no big reprise at the end. It felt rushed, and the fact that the film takes place over a two day period, (or most of it at least), really made it feel insignificant in many ways. The story just didn't have the grand feel I'd hoped for in the sense that it seemed small, concise, and with very few implications. I also wish we would have gotten a more dramatic thawing of Anna, and a bigger score piece for it. It felt anti-climactic, and less of a huge deal than it should have..

Had they stretched things out a bit longer, given a little more character development, added my wish for the ending, and maybe given Elsa a little more screen time, I think I'd rank it right up there with the Fab Four. But as it stands, I love it far more than Tangled, and am really pleased with it as a whole. I'm dying to see disney do more fairy tales in the future now.

That would be more perfect timing because Anna being frozen is very sad. And it would be gorgeous! And I wish like in Brave, Elsa gave a speech on how everything is Elsa's fault, how she did this to protect her, I LOVE YOUUUUUUU etc., instead of her saying "Nooooo..." and that's it. It nearly ruins the climax that it was building up to.

This is correct, because of the early opening at the El Capitan. It made 200-something thousand from those pre-screenings alone.

I don't know, If Frozen did those things, it would've felt so tooth grindingly cliche because they've been done to death. I loved how Elsa finally knew that she was wrong and it didn't needed to be spoon fed to us. Plus Anna's frozen body was done well if a little rushed.

As much as I loved this film that is equal to the Disney Renaissance films, the middle part's pacing does feel wonky but the really, REALLY GREAT things really destroyed my objective part of my critical thinking. To me, it's not the greatest since Beauty and the Beast, but DANG! This one comes pretty close and the creativity that surrounds the characters and artistry did remind me of Beauty and the Beast.

Exactly! What I wanted more than anything was the Vuelie to return and become this big heartbreaking piece. It felt so... Expected and unimportant. She was DEAD. She's alive again. At least give it some significance. I also really wanted a reprise of For the First Time in Forever and it to end with Anna and Elsa singing something along the lines of "For the first time in forever... I have you." I feel like it would've cemented the relationship and also given that classic ending feel it needed.

I plan on going back to see this at least two more times. Last year I only saw Wreck It Ralph once due to it being hard to go outside with a herniated disc and being wheel chair bound.

One thing I did notice was that at times, Idina Menzel's signing voice sometimes didn't match Elsa's appearance for me or rather her singing voice. However that's being a bit nit-picky. Overall I loved this movie. I'm not going to compare it to Wreck it Ralph as the two are like comparing Apples to Watermelon. I actually liked this better than Tangled. It's probably the music that got me excited.

I thought it was really good. Maybe slightly better than Tangled. However I felt the story wasn't as tight as Wreck it Ralph's. And everyone keeps going on and on about how beautiful Elsa is, but I really think they overdid it with her eyes. I kept thinking she looked like a bug. The beginning was wonderful, and the Let it Go sequence was stunning. The road trip stuff was...eh. Road trip movies just never seem as neatly plotted to me. Tangled, Princess and Frog had similar feels in this aspect, although I think Frozen was better at it since the road trip stuff was minimized. I also think Anna and Rapunzel look alike in the same way Ariel, Belle, Tiana, and Jasmine look alike. They look like they're from the same universe but within that universe they are unique looking from each other, if that makes sense.

I congratulated him on making such a fine movie... Too bad it was too late and I couldn't ask him to sign or draw me something...

but still.. watching a disney movie, with ONE of the animators is kind of a big thing in my book T_______T

Ok. So far the following made a cameo in For the First Time in Forever:

-Beauty and the Beast: The guard armors.
-Pocahontas: The scene where Anna sees the ships for the first time.
-Mulan: The fan
-Princess and the Frog: The table with all the deserts.
-Tangled: Rapunzel and Eugene were literally in the movie.

Here's another review that mostly focuses on complaining about Disney's "brand" and reduces talking about the movie to about...oh, a paragraph or so.

I guess I shouldn't get so upset, but oh god, I hate movie critics. When did "criticism" become the art of comparison?

On a side note, from what I have been seeing, fans seem to unanimously love this movie (I don't know what Tumblr has to say and I don't care) and it is going to make a loooooooooot of money!
