Movies So Bad They are Funny
Sometimes it is done intentionally, sometimes not, but there are movies that are so bad they are funny.
Two of my favourites are:
Silent Night, Deadly Night 2:
2/3 of the film is actually "flashback" footage from the first film, "remembered" by the brother of the original killer (who wasn't actually old enough to see any of the stuff that happened, nor was he there). The "new" footage is made up of dodgy eyebrow work, over the top acting and lines like "It's garbage day!!".
Jack Frost
Not the Michael Keaton version, but a "horror" movie with a snowman. Watching him move (or not) is hilarious enough, but the attack on a younger Shannon Elizabeth is priceless. (She's nude, he has a carrot nose...join the dots).
Also, there are heaps of entries on www.badmovies.org that must be seen.
So, does anyone else love the cheese?

Showgirls. I still find it to be a horrible movie (boobies or not), but you gotta admit that the whole seriousness of the film just makes it absolutely hilarious to behold. I mean, where else will you find a scene like this (paraphrasing):
::Girl trips and breaks her leg::
Girl: Help! Ow! My leg's broken!
Stagehand: I think she broke her leg...

I can't believe I forgot that one (given that it has only been a few days since I received the box set).Disneykid wrote:Showgirls. Yes, as we supporters have said many times on this and other forums, it is a satire. Now, that is not to say it doesn't take itself seriously (as it does at times), but for a movie to truly be bad, it has to be dead boring and have no redeeming features whatsoever. As Disneykid points out, there are certainly some laughs in there.

At times, A.I. Artificial Intelligence qualifies (sorry Kelvin and CKD
).
It is hysterical. Sadly, it's not supposed to be (I don't think). At any rate, it's not at all scary.

Well, I don't think he commited suicide due to the film, but yes. And he was a fertiliser salesman before and after making the film (somewhat appropritate?). Also Manos means "hands", so the title is actually "Hands: The Hands of Fate".Disneykid wrote:I'm absolutely dying to see Manos. Just based on what I've read of it, it sounds absolutely (and unintentionally) hysterical. I mean, supposedly the movie is so bad that the director and one (maybe more) of the actors commited suicide...
Disneykid, after you have seen the shocking conclusion to Manos: The Hands of Fate, I urge you not to give away the senses-shattering ending, and spoil it for others.
Check out the upcoming MST3K set, well worth the money just for Manos alone!

Oooh, the MST of Manos...Despite really wanting to see it, I'll wait till I see it elsewhere since I can't be certain if Manos will be too horrifically awful (MST or not) to even keep next to my other DVD's...

Oh, in reading where DK quoted me, I realized it sounded like I was imphasizing "it" and referring to A.I. I meant It, the "scary" clown movie.

Anaconda was pretty stupid, but some of the scenes, especially the Star Wars style worded prologue and the bits where the people get attacked are funny. Also, the English guy's voice is hilarious.
Has anyone seen Little Devils: The Birth? It was a really lame horror movie and how they killed the devils was hilarious! Also how the devils became was laughable.
Okay, if you like direct to video sequels, look away now! That video, Belle's Magical World was so atrociously sugary and bad it was hilarious. Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything like the satirical sequels post I once did
