So, it turns out that Santino actually auditioned for Flynn Rider. How cute: The casting directors thought he was terrible!

Re: Frozen: Part V
looking in IMDB At the frozen cast and I saw three interesting names that apparently in the movie:

Kai, Gerda? WTF? For people who saw the movie already, who are they in this movie?
Also who is the Pabbie/Grandpa?

Kai and Gerda are servants. Pretty much: Kai is fat (Sorry, that's the only way I can describe him) and Gerda is old. Pabbie is the troll king that saves little Anna at the beginning. Bulda is a troll tooSuper Aurora wrote:Kai, Gerda? WTF? For people who saw the movie already, who are they in this movie?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Bulda is the one who sings the more preachy part of Fixer upper.
On another note, does anybody know what theater is selling the drink cups with the little frozen figurine toppers?

I don't own any Disney Infinity characters. I collect Disney Pins & just spent over $100 on the Anna/Elsa Disney Store Frozen pin on Ebay.

Thank you taei!
About the Disney Infinity characters- I believe some stores have been selling them early by mistake.
I have been spending so much money on the Disneystore site. As I understand it, new movie merch usually gets to be a slightly lower quality during the second run. The first run looks great because it is also advertisement for the film. So I've been getting all the elsa things I can afford, and now I have the LE Elsa doll coming to me on tuesday (sold out online in the US in 12 minutes, but I think people in the UK can still order them), which i'm pretty stoked for. I've never collected dolls before, but I have this urge to collect elsa just because of how much I identify with her. Also, all the face sculpts of elsa and anna look so much better than disney dolls of the past, even the classic dolls (my one piece of anna merch so far: I have the Anna and Elsa classic doll packaged together because they look cute that way).

Found this video floating around tumblr. Better if you can understand french, but seeing the french voice of Olaf talk to Jen and Buck is really great. This also shows us a bit of the technology used to give the film that realistic, "shaky" quality.

Mixed but overall positive review from a group of critics on The Wrap (Ben Mankiewich, Christy Lamire, Matt Atchity and Alonso Duralde, who posted an early review) on Frozen. Averaged it as 7.7/10:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV6SvNmmoIc
I swear, it's a good thing I knew the Frozen storyline in advance. Some of the reviews promoting the film would have completely put me off it.
Sure enough, though, one aspect of the film draws criticism -- the twist. Christy Lamire (who gives it the lowest score) says that the the twist "isn't earned" and "comes out of nowhere," calling it "shorthand screenwriting." I can't disagree.
At any rate, it looks like their reviews will all be fresh

Re: Frozen: Part V
Excited to see this movie, but it will not premiere in Norway before December 26th. So I hope people discussing the movie in this thread will contine to hide the spoilers for a little bit longer untill international Disney fans have got the chance to see it in cinemas as well:)
I would love to contine to come to this thread to read about the score and get links to new posters, products etc - but I would hate to spoil the movie by reading about important plot points and the ending before I got to see the movie for myself...

Hi. Your signature states that you're from Norway. I was wondering -- have you seen any of the (many, many) trailers and preview so of the film? If so, is it your opinion that the look of the settings, the architecture, the clothing, etc. convincingly and recognizably references Norway in the 1800s?Prince Edward wrote:Excited to see this movie, but it will not premiere in Norway before December 26th. That is, I'm wondering if someone from Norway might be picking up on subtle references to the culture of your nation that the rest of us might be missing.
The filmmakers have often discussed many of the obvious Norwegian influences on the world of Frozen (the fjords, the stave church, rosemailing, Bunad clothing, the Northern Lights, the Bryggen in Bergen, etc.). But is there perhaps more that we're not seeing? Or is it hard to tell just from small-size Web videos?
I'm very interested in this aspect of the film.

Re: Frozen: Part V
An interesting question you got there PrincessElsa!:)
So far I have noticed the Norwegian influence on the nature, architecture, clothing (Anna's dress looks inspired by a bunad, and Kristoff's clothes looks inspired by the traditional clothing of the Sami people) and art (rosemaling). So far I have not listened to any of the music besides "Let It Go", but I have read that it is inspired by traditional Norwegian folk music.
I don't think Norwegians might pick up more from the previews then people from other countries, it seems like what we have seen of the Norwegian influence on this movie so far have already been discussed. But perhaps us Norwegians might notice things other people do not after watching the movie itself. I will come back to you on this topic after I have seen the film, if I take notice of anything particular that have not yet been pointed out. Perhaps other forum members from Norway might do the same as well:)

I usually stop reading the text in the thread when the movie is released in the US and I only look for links to new videos, posters, etc., but I know it’s difficult not getting spoiled. I usually end up knowing the majority of the film’s story, except 1 or 2 plot points. In Tangled, for example, one of the only things I didn’t know before seeing the film was Gothel’s plan to make Rapunzel not wanting to escape from the tower again.Prince Edward wrote:Excited to see this movie, but it will not premiere in Norway before December 26th. Tangled premiered in Spain 3 months after the American release. But this year I’m lucky, because here in Spain the film opens only 2 days after the US release date. And Monsters University opened the same day it premiered in America, so I’m very grateful to Disney Spain for doing that lately, because in the past we had to wait sometimes 6 months to see a new Disney film.
And I’m excited for the film as well, but my expectations are not too high right now. I don’t think I will like it as much as I like Tangled, which is my favorite from the films they have produced since John Lasseter came to Disney. I already like many elements from Frozen like the art direction or the songs, but I fear that the film itself won’t be as good. One of the reasons is because I find the story a bit too simple, from what I know about it. But as Disney Divinity recently said, this is a good thing because if I don’t like the movie I won’t be too disappointed and I’ll be surprised if it’s better than what I thought.

I haven't seen the film but from what I have read and seen I would have to agree, Tangled was just an amazing film in my opinion, as was to the critics. I didn't like Wreck-it Ralph after many showings but critics liked it. I haven't seen Winnie the Pooh, but have seen The Princess and the Frog, thought that was awesome, great songs etc. (The typical Ron and John humour was a little annoying but.) But I guess I can't make judgements until I've seen the film.Quote wrote: If I had to compare Frozen amongst Disney’s recent resurgence of animated fare, those being The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Winnie the Pooh, and Wreck-It Ralph, I’d say that it’s the weakest, but it still has every right to be called a Disney film.

Re: Frozen: Part V
I've seen it today!!! I really loved it.
The music, the animation, the characters... all great!
To me Frozen is the best animated movie since Tarzan.
Before watching the movie I hated Olaf from the previews and all, but now I'm in love with him!
Very well done! And the Mickey Mouse short "Get a Horse" is amazing in 3D!

So the soundtrack comes out at midnight tonight in the US. I'm going to wait a few days until I can get a physical copy in stores, but we might start seeing songs pop up around the internet tonight.
