Not really.

He dislikes it because it's not 2D animated and how it's not Studio Ghibli; though he refuses to admit it, hence the backtracking and trying to find other reasons to why he shallowly rather than having a strong and deep reason, dislikes the movie.

Very ironic since he tries to act very mature, and he's instead, very childish. Judging by this anyways.

I think that's assuming a lot from those comments, actually. Are you sure he wouldn't have preferred a Ghibli film to a 2D Disney film, too? There are many people who feel Ghibli films are more mature than Disney films (for good reasons).

OMG ! Kristen and Bobby HAVE THE Disney touch ( i could already say it from the very first time when listening to them in Nemo (the charming "Big Blue World" song )

Seeing AT LAST this couple of two wonderful and nice musical genius speaking about the story and their work is so refreshing and exciting : my heart is soaring. Mr & Mrs Lopez, i Love U

! U bring so much to this film and to Disney... U're such touching and clever people. I'm proud U're part of it.

PS : in those links we can clearly hear how DYWTBAS is pure DISNEY perfection, and how LIAOD sounds definitely Mc Cartney !!!

Q: Was the film originally going to be hand-drawn vs. CG?

Yes, it was going to be hand-drawn, but that was years ago. But as time went on and the success of Tangled and the CG of the characters was incredible we went that route. It was more of the environment of the Ice and Snow that made our decision. To do that in CG it would be make it look amazing.

Am I the only one rolling eyes whenever one of the cast members says in an interview that the sister love theme is new to Disney?

I GET it, Lasseter dislikes Lilo & Stitch, but the sister relationship in that film is not some minor element. It was beautifully written and incredibly relatable. Even the broken home theme is pretty much repeated in Frozen. It's really similar when you think about it.

Sorry I shouldn't have reopened that can of worms. It's rumored mostly. And an assumption on my part.

There's been this assumption in general, echoed by PIXAR greatly, that nothing good was coming out of WDFA during PIXAR's glory years and right before the buyout by Disney.

Lilo & Stitch is often ignored (along with New Groove) because it does not fit the theory that Disney had been completely broken for years when PIXAR/Lasseter stepped in.

What I love about both movies is that the themes are similar but they are executed rather differently. That's the thing about Disney movies that I admire.
