Untitled Pixar Film Directed by Teddy Newton

Post by Sotiris »

I wonder whether this is the Florence project or a different one altogether.
After Sundance, Derek Connolly moved up to Emeryville to work at Pixar, where he's writing an untitled project for Teddy Newton ('Day and Night'). "It's totally different, the way they do things up here. You're here everyday. You don't go away for three months and come up with a script. You're involved with a director and it's very collaborative". The Pixar gang also told him "not to dumb it down or treat animation like it's for kids."

This is interesting makes me think that Disney will probably be having more original movies than though before. If that is the case then their slump must have been minor.I know they probably won't reach the height of Toy Story 3 but I think it will be gueninely good.

The French website The Art of Animation is reporting that Teddy Newton has left Pixar. The only other mention of this I could find was an anonymous comment on Upcoming Pixar on October 8th so take these news with a grain of salt until the report is verified.

What's a Pixar movie these days without a director change?

The report that Teddy Newton had left Pixar was accurate. He now works at Paramount Animation alongside other former Disney alumni like John Kahrs and Lino DiSalvo.
