I wouldn't repurchase this for two reasons: Firstly, I can't afford to start rebuying stuff I already have (although I did buy A Bug's Life twice). Secondly, there isn't really anything on the US DVD that isn't on the UK copy to justify it. I could justify buying Bug's again because of the wealth of supplemental features. But there isn't anything more on the US DVD (apart from the trailers?) to warrant a repurchase only 6 months after the first purchase.

And the cover is nicer :P Hee hee hee....
Only dvd i have bought twice so far is mary poppins
and if the 2 disc version will indeed become a fact next year it will be my third purchase of the film that's why i'm a bit holding of on bare bone releases overall for now

Well, it looks as if the most recent cover, the one split in 2 with Aurora in the pink dress, is the "official" release cover. :( Well, atleast I will finally have this :D , perhaps the cover will grow on me, besides I will be spending more time looking at the Movie, itself, and spine of the box, that I guess it really doesn't matter, although I think the discs should be better, they are too cartoonish, a nice scen of briar rose danceing with either "peasant" phillip or her scarecrow prince, being over seen, by phllip would be better than the "barbie" scene.

one of my worries about SB's future sequel is how they will make her and phillip look, since I see a lot of modern thiongs that feauture them and they do not look the same as in the movie.

Don't even THINK about a sequel to this wonderful movie!!!!! If Disney somehow hears what you just said, you know what will happen...
Pretty soon we'll see Aurora's daughter Rose getting cursed by Maleficent's reincarnation or something.

Or her Dauugher and Son (Dawn and Day) almost eaten by a troll. Which is after all how the original fairytale continues! :)

Remember, Disney took the story from an existing story, and the existing story does continue (as you will see when you get your Sleeping Beauty 2 disc set this Autumn).

(That said, even though I support Disney's right to make sequels, I wouldn't want a Sleeping Beauty sequel).

Trust me I do NOT want a sequel to this film... oh and Prince Adam, Rose, is the name of Snow White and Prince Charmings daughter   .

You know, Walt all through out of life post SW said he never wanted a sequel to Snow White and not only are they making it one, they are calling it SWATSD2: The SEQUEL. GOD! that is like the biggest slap in the face. I don't see any other sequels getting that sub title.

To be fair, I think Disney has to make a sequel at some point in the next few years in order to keep their trademark - I think. It's not copyright, but something else which has to be renewed by a new product in the same media as the original release. :?

If Disney do loose some of their rights to Snow White, you'll have more than Disney sequels to worry about :)

Anyhow, are you sure that's the proposed name Phillip? I ask, because I am 100% certain that creatively the only way they can do another Snow White film is if it is a midquel or prequel.

Even a midquels suspect, as didn't Snow White only spend 2 days with the dwarfs? Or am I imagining that?

No, it is definately called - The Sequel.

In it, the six Dwarfs, that are not Dopey, are kid napped by the Evil Queen's more evil sister, forgot her name.

Snow White and Prince Charming have a daughter Rose.

It is up to Dopey, Snow White and family to save their six little friends.

(Once again, a puking emoticon would come in handy :P )

Prince Phillip-I hope you are kidding. I know there's a sequel coming, but I hope it's not what you've planned out!

And about the Sleeping Beauty cover art-the one that they originally planned for september's release was too bland, and this one's too cartoony. I think they should put Aurora and Phillip as they appeared on the first cover at the top of the second. And Aurora should never be in a pink dress-if I'm not mistaken, the last time was see her (after all the switching) she's in blue. And she spent most of her time in blue.
So Aurora and Phillip from the first cover with the set up from the second.

My Snow White sequel (which is actually a prequel) would go something like this:

The King is in mourning. His wife, the queen is dead. We see the king romancing the evil Witch who plans to marry the King when he is at his emotional weakest after his daughter is killed - by her own evil plan.

Meanwhile, as part of her wicked plan, the dwarfs are evicted from their current home, and wander into the forest. (I'll admit this bit needs more work for it to make logical sense - but hey, this is straight off the top of my head you know?).

The Witch ensures Snow White is lost in the forest while she releases her dread wolves/bears/flying monkeys/whatever. The Dwarfs save the young Snow White from the wolves/bears/flying monkeys/whatever without knowing who she is.

The films ends with Snow White being reunited with her father, but the witch takes the credit for saving her - this leading to her marriage to the king. The Dwarfs come out of the other side of the forest and find a cave filled with diamonds and gemstones. They are happy as they have found a new way to earn a living.

Yes - it's not perfect, I know that. And I literally thought it up while I was typing it but I'm sure it would be a good starting point. The question is, would Disney want the film to end on a downbeat note - the evil witch marrying the king?

No guys! I'm not kidding! That is the sequel that is being planned/made! Trust me I would not kid about something like that.

And Price Adam, that is exactly the cover I would do too  . Once again we seem to be using the same brain wave or something...

My "sequel/midquel/prequel" whatever would be the Snow White story through the Princes eyes. As he sets off from his castle, meets and fals inlove with Snow White, as he is captured by the evil queen, escapes, finds Snow White after maybe years of searching, and certain perils, as he kisses her and they journey to hisa castle and are wedded.

I think that would make a pretty damn good story! :D

And it means the Prince may actually get a personality after all these years! :)

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I'm not a big fan of Snow White, but to posthumously disregard Walt's wishes and put his name on a sequel to Snow White....that's terrible, and should be against some sort of law!

I'm not against sequels, but I don't think any should be made to films made during Walt's lifetime (although Lady and the Tramp 2 was pretty good).

I agree with Adam and Phillip-I'd just take the Aurora and Phillip from the first cover and paste them at the top of the new one, then it'd look fine.

As for the Snow White sequel, I really like 2099's idea. I'm actually more of a prequel fan than sequel fan because I find it more fun to find out what happens to lead us to the current story than to find out what happens after it. Also with prequels, you can make sly references to the original which tend to be quite fun to watch. :D

yeah, I'd rather see a prequel. I'd rather watch the Little Mermaid TV series than the sequel, and I'd love to see some horribly sad film about how why Pocahontas, Jasmine, Belle, Ariel, and Cinderella only have one parent. People say that's too depressing for a Disney ANIMATED film, but they handled it quite well in Bambi and Lion King. The only thing is, Bambi and Simba seemed to 'get over it' to quickly and easily. I'd love to see movie about how Belle's mom dies, and how Belle deals with her grief (she'd have to be 14-15 years old so Disney can keep her in the same costume as they like to do)

I thought Prince P.'s and 2099net's versions of additional SW stories were good. The only problem is that if a prequel was made and the dwarfs were in the film, then they could not cross paths with Snow White, or it wouldn't make sense when she meets him in the original.

Great ideas, though. :D

I hope Disney considers starting over on their little "project" or better yet, not do it at all!!!

Woah, I don't know how that happened. It had some "DEBUG MODE" and said that the "e-mail failed to be sent" and gave some weird URL address. So I clicked Submit again and VOILA! 2 Identical Posts!
