I LOVE the melody as well. I know some people are saying the music is meh but THAT has me excited.

^ I know. FTFTIF's melody sounds gorgeous. My favorite Disney songs usually tend to be the slower, more somber songs anyway, so maybe I'm just biased, but the song just sounds like a beautiful setup for a heartfelt Elsa-Anna duet and scene.

For The First Time In Forever's melody already sounds beautiful. It's like the really good slow Disney songs we have all grew up with.

I'm worried about this soundtrack...

1) Has it been officially confirmed that it's going to be 2-Discs?

2) I hope there aren't too many songs... The one thing that I hate about TPATF is that they had so many unnecessary songs.

1. Yes on Amazon it's confirmed that it will be a "2-Disc Deluxe Soundtrack".

2. I'm sure most of it will be Christophe Beck's score from the movie. Plus I wouldn't worry about "unnecessary songs", because this is the one and only Robert Lopez we are talking about. He is a much better songwriter than Randy is.

As far as I'm concerned, the more songs and the more Broadway this feels the better.

Hey, tell us about your dream ;-) !!!

I hope there will be more than only 4 or 5 Beck tracks ( you know, like those poor un-complete soundtracks of Tarzan, Lion King, Hunchback, Beauty and Beast...)

My other concern is about a potential presence of TOO MANY SONGS IN A RAW at the BEGINNING of the movie...
1: Overture :traditionnal sami tune/ice harvesters song
2 : a few minutes later, Anna : For The First Time in Forever
3 : a few minutes later, she meets Hans then the Funny Love Song
4 : a few minutes later, coronation, drama scene/Let it Go
5 : a few minutes later, Anna leaves, meets Kristoff at Olaf's / Reindeer Serenade
6 : a few minutes later, they meet Olaf : In Summer...

It would be like SIX songs in the first act !!!!

+ Troll Song and reprises during the two other acts ?

Strange Balance...

You're right, the soundtrack does look to be a bit too top-heavy at the moment.

I haven't listened to the melody everyone's talking about, but I am looking forward to the music just because I enjoyed Avenue Q very much (although Book of Mormon was meh for me). If I don't like the music after hearing, I might still get the soundtrack anyway for Idina Menzel's number(s).

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Ok, my dream was that my eldest sister (who doesn't want to see this in real life :P but my twin sis does :D ) some how got the soundtrack listings. i grabbed the CD they were on to post tumblr (i forget the new titles, they were too tiny to read rotfl ), but then i woke up.

But, yeah the number of these songs will be interesting! i just hope they flow well, like PATF did! Because if there will be like 10-12 songs :P :P :P, I don't want Disney to shove them down our throats, even as a huge theatre nerd I'm saying it! And if there's going to be like a 3 minute song every 5 seconds, even I will be annoyed. So glad afterthe troll song or In Summer, there will be a long break until the end (the duet will obviously be at the end)

Well that's what usually happens in Disney's musicals. The last song in TLM (without counting the final reprise of POYW, is "Kiss The Girl" and, even though that's not part of the first act, it's like a little bit after the half of the movie. Same with Tangled. The last song is I see The Light and there's nothing left for the ending.
I hope the movie has the same musical pacing Hunchback has. It was like a live show but without having too unnecessary songs like PATF.

And not to mention Elsa's castle with those colours looking like a stage. Add Idina Menzel voice to that :o

Jin Kim's drawings of Elsa and Anna are incredible! and I really like the concept art of Elsa and Han's outfits.

If Frozen does have the musical pacing of Hunchback then I will be more than pleased. :) :)

I don't find it suprising that Frozen has so many songs because I have heard people complain that Tangled didn't have enough songs so I think that this movie will please those kind of people.

Let's all have a sincere thought for all those poor guys who hate magic, songs and musicals but saw the action-humor-Olaf-centered teaser and trailer, and are going to fill the theaters... then will go insane    when hearing and seeing all those romantic, moving songs and sisters-drama-queen-stuff !!! rotfl rotfl rotfl
