Re: Frozen: Part IV
Well, since i know the original tale very well, and from all we know so far, i've tracked all the meeting points and comparisons for you… Interesting. This contains potential spoilers.
BOTH
- troll(s) (connected to the freezing spells somehow)
- a magical ice palace and a mysterious snow queen
- a reindeer
- wolves
+
- a slibing relationship (DISNEY : anna and elsa ANDERSEN : kay and gerda )
- a slibing sweet character becoming cold, stark and distant (DISNEY : elsa ANDERSEN : kay )
- a slibing sweet character receiving a freezing-heart spell by accident (DISNEY : anna ANDERSEN : kay )
- effect of that freezing-heart spell (DISNEY : to be physically frozen then dead ANDERSEN : to become cold, stark and mean )
- a slibing sweet character going on a quest to save the one (DISNEY : anna ANDERSEN : gerda )
- a prince and a princess (DISNEY : hans, anna, elsa ANDERSEN : the prince and the princess gerda meets )
- many reference to flowers, roses (DISNEY : rosemaling, at oaken's, on elsa's arendelle scepter ANDERSEN : in gerda and kay's garden, in the old gardener's garden )
- a loving adult couple (DISNEY : anna and kristoff ANDERSEN : grown up gerda and kay at the end )
- a boy kid (DISNEY : young kristoff ANDERSEN : kay )
- a girl kid (DISNEY : young anna and elsa ANDERSEN : gerda )
- sideckick (DISNEY : olaf ANDERSEN : the crow )
- a cure to thaw a frozen heart (DISNEY : an act of love ANDERSEN : tears of love )
- cosy warm places (DISNEY : oaken's place ANDERSEN : at lap and finn women's )
- nice encounters (DISNEY : oaken, kristoff, reindeer, olaf, trolls ANDERSEN : crows, prince, princess, robber girl, reindeer, lap and finn women)
- dangerous encounters (DISNEY : wolves, marshmallow, hans, elsa ANDERSEN : old gardener, robbers, snow queen gards, wolves )
- sweet granny figures (DISNEY : the troll womanANDERSEN : the granny, the old gardener )
- snow queen gards (DISNEY : one, marshmallow ANDERSEN : many )
Just forget the mirror. Or maybe we'll have the chance to get an allusion somewhere. Would be so easy to incorporate…

Re: Frozen: Part IV
OMG... Disney just announced the German (maybe also the dutch?) voice actor of Elsa and it's Willemijn Verkaik.
A few months ago I've joked about this, but I never thought they would actually do this. So happy right now!

PLEASE let Willemijn do the Dutch version as well. That would make up for the fuck-up that was Tangled.
She can easily do both. *crosses fingers*

There is a press release available on the German Disney press server. I can't link to it, but here are some promo pictures.disneyprincess11 wrote:Wait, where did they announced this?

Perfectly inventive, sweet, charming, funny...
Olaf is a good character, a good sidekick. So much better than Pumba, Timon, Mushu and so.
And Josh's voice is so perfect. No one compares.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
Olaf seems to be a perfect comic relief character for me..
I mean, he actually helps them out. I found Ray annoying, but I don't think Olaf is annoying at all!

I love the endless falling apart jokes. So inventive and must have been cool to storyboard and animate.

Much as I wish some of the other characters were given the spotlight a bit more in Disney's promotion of the movie, Olaf really is growing on me. I will admit to not being all that impressed with his design initially, but I'm finding Olaf to be very endearing as comedic side-kicks go, and it's the sort of humour that appeals to me.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
Okay, Disney has finally gotten a speaking sidekick, who's warm, funny, and kind of charming in Olaf's own way. If he is as good as the clip makes him out to be; then he has already defeated Ray from TPATF as my favorite Disney sidekick in this new Disney era.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I thought he seemed very annoying at first, but he seems more endearing now. Though I shall see the movie first.pangrizabella wrote:Much as I wish some of the other characters were given the spotlight a bit more in Disney's promotion of the movie, Olaf really is growing on me. Olaf will be the new Dory - A secondary character that is funny, sweet, endearing, well voiced etc. and could ultimately steal the show from the mains

Does anyone know anyone who has posted the entire junior novelisation? I've found some pages but would very much like the whole thing.
Getting rather exciting that the film is less than 2 months away

What? You can't wait for 1 month and 26 days for the film to come out.TheBlibaBlob wrote:Does anyone know anyone who has posted the entire junior novelisation? I've found some pages but would very much like the whole thing.

I know I have been spoiled on some things. But I'm saving my judgement untill I see the film with my eyes.
Why hasn't Jim Hill written on an early screening of Frozen if he has seen it? I remember that he wrote a mini review of Tangled two months prior to the films release in November.
