Re: Frozen: Part IV
For me, the trailer doesn't get me all that hyped.
Perhaps it's because a I liked Wreck-It-Ralph quite a bit more than any of the CG Animated films Disney has done.
however it's probably just the trailer I'm not sold on. Hopefully I'll like the film itself.
I was hoping to hear some talking from Elsa though.

I like the trailer. Wish there was more Elsa, but I'm ok with it since I like Anna more.

Didn't claim originality, just confirming what has already been saidMusical Master wrote:"Tanged on Ice"?? Wow that's original![]()
It might end up being a brilliant marketing strategy. It comes across as a hybrid of Tangled (girl appeal) and Ice Age (boy appeal), so this trailer will do a good job of getting both of those gendered little butts in theatre seats.
I'm taking it as a good sign that Elsa is hardly showcased in the trailer. It probably means most of her scenes are too sophisticated to market to the masses. She's definitely going to be the dramatic weight of this movie.

As much as I really hated Tangled's marketing in the US, it ended up being for the best though.DancingCrab wrote:Didn't claim originality, just confirming what has already been saidMusical Master wrote:"Tanged on Ice"?? Wow that's original![]()

Same for Frozen as well. But my wish is that people will want to see this movie for other reasons (songs, Elsa, etc).

Kristoff and Anna have much different personalities from Flynn and Rapunzel. I think I'll like them more. The voice actors are definitely better at least.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
ok just saw it, this is my first actual viewing of the trailer as I wanted to wait until the official release.
ugh, ugh the comedy is so...awful. I hate how modern they sound. and that stupid modern pop song, though hopefully its just for the trailer. But wow it makes the movie seem so generic. So...I guess it will work like it did for Tangled. Tween girls, soccer moms & 12 year old boys will fill the seats.
So little Elsa, wanna bet its b/c she has very few comedy lines?
on the + side...
so glad Disney is toning down on the oversaturated color schemes! the color is amazing, lots of subtlety there, I see grays! there's some candy coloring of course but not throughout the whole film. Will help to not make the movie look like another cheapo Barbie film.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
I find it so hilarious how the generic complaints about the trailer (essentially anything to do with Tangled or the CGI animation or comparisons to Dreamworks) have essentially become more unoriginal than the trailer itself.
Sure, I don't like the trailer very much either, but I don't need to repeat what's been said dozens of times. If this is what gets little kids to see this movie, I won't complain. I actually like though how they're keeping Elsa mysterious and playing her up as the main antagonist even when she's not. It'll make the final movie more surprising for general audiences.
Also, I believe Tangled's marketing was way worse. At least Frozen's trailer doesn't act as though the movie completely revolves around the male love interest while it really is focused on a long haired girl and at least Frozen doesn't outright lie or try to hide the general plot...mostly. Spoilers not included.

Love the trailer, for what it is. I know it's still hiding quite a bit, but I'm glad it isn't quite so heavy in the other direction as Tangled was. Anna is super cute.
And seeing some extended shots here... They're gorgeous, visually. I really think WDAS has passed up Pixar in terms of pushing the envelope of what CG animation can do.

I think why they are not advertising Elsa as much is probably because she is a Knight Of Cerberus for this film. Anything involving her will be dramatic in nature and kill any sort of humor in a scene.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
I think these days, Disney has to hide some things. If their trailer came out and said, "Here is a movie with TWO more princesses and songs so great that they will give Broadway geeks an Idina-gasm" I think most of the public would skip the movie.
And in this day and age, Disney needs the soccer moms, Tweens, and little children in order for this movie to be profitable.
There just aren't enough Disney fans, theatre fans, etc. to accomplish that. And let's be honest, most of those will see this film anyway.

This makes me so happy that Hans at least will have a song to sing.
Oh and I still think that Frozen's trailer is at least telling us a part of the plot unlike Tangled.
I most certainly can agree with you, Disney is pushing the CG animation to be better and better with each film.SWillie! wrote:Love the trailer, for what it is. I know it's still hiding quite a bit, but I'm glad it isn't quite so heavy in the other direction as Tangled was. Anna is super cute.

Going by the visuals of the concept art I have a feeling it will be in the style of "So, This Is Love" from Cinderella. Masking Hans' status as the big bad.Musical Master wrote:YES!!!!!disneyprincess11 wrote:CONFIRMED: SANTINO FONTANA/HANS DOES SING!

Re: Frozen: Part IV
I didn’t share my thoughts on the trailer before though I saw the Australian trailer, and while I think they could have made it better; like some of you said, this one is good to make the general public interested in the movie.
I also agree that the animation is very good and the landscapes are beautiful. I like Anna’s personality and I love Olav’s voice. I didn’t know who Josh Gad was until I learned he was voicing a character in Frozen, but I find him very funny. Kristoff doesn’t seem a bad character either, though you can’t tell much of his personality from the trailer. The wolfs look scary, but to have wolfs in the film makes it remind of Beauty and the Beast even more. And Marshmallow doesn’t have ice teeth and ice spikes in the back now. Why is its design always changing?
About Elsa not featured much in this trailer, I think they wanted to focus on Anna and Kristoff’s journey and the comedy and adventure, and keep a little mystery about the young queen, like Tangled (the member) said. Besides, they usually don’t reveal much of the plot in the first trailer. But I think they will tell more about her in future trailers.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
I know people have the right to express their opinion, but man all over the internet, ecspecially on YouTube and Yahoo and DeviantArt people are complaining like crazy. it just gets annoying how people are like they need more darker skinned people in it and Disney are ruined because it's not 2d animation. It's a trailer! It's not meant to accurately pin-point everything in the movie. Just look at How to Train Your Dragon's first trailer, hardly gave anything away. And also HTTYD2 teaser, gave nothing away for teh plot, and neither did Frozen's, yet people slammed Disney's over HTTYD2. Same with Toy Story 3 teaser. But that might just be a sequel thing, but still.
Re: Frozen: Part IV
I don't know if you noticed, and I actually thought it was kind of cool.
The angrier Marshmallow gets, the more icicles come out. I thought that was kind of cool. And his eyes glow green...
I love the show where he is attacking the guards. Though I wonder how big of character he'll be.. probably not much.
If you guys go on Stitch Kingdom's Instagram you can hear the tune from Anna's song.

I like this quote on Aintitcool:

And another good quote:So, like Tangled, instead of a proper Fairy Tale Disney Classic we get another CGI fest with the same old sarcastic humour and facial expressions passing for dry wit.
It was better when it had 2 guys, a girl, and a ski lift.
