I didn't forget about that. But it hardly counts. Hell, that film was a contractual obligation.DisneyJedi wrote:Patrick, I think you're forgetting about Angie's voice work as Tigress in Kung Fu Panda 2. So technically, that would make it two or three years since she's had a big screen role.
She hasn't been physically on-screen since The Tourist in 2010. And tabloids that report on her 24/7 are referring to this as her 'comeback' from a long hiatus.
Also, Disney's marketing has not 'dropped the ball' all that much in recent years. Their productions were simply not good. All of the Bruckheimer collaborations were terrible because he is out of touch and that is why they failed.
Disney has had hit after hit over the past few years. Including the domestic and worldwide #1 movie of the past two years. We cannot keep blaming Disney's marketing for every movie that underperforms. Other studios have just as many movies underperforming if not more. And there is absolutely no reason to start worrying about this film because there's no trailer or teaser yet.
Avatar's first trailer debuted in late August and I remember people declaring the movie a failure because the studio had waited too long with rolling out the trailer and posters. Again, we do not need a trailer 8 months in advance. There are hundreds of movies coming out before then.
Complaining about this just comes across as impatience.
