I think there's a lot of characters who should have more merchandise, especially merchandise aimed at boys! I wonder what happened to the Disney Heroes line? Did it just not take off?

The villains could do with a little more exposure. Maleficent will probably get some merchandise with the movie coming out but I'd like to see some more Evil Queen stuff.

I actually like that some characters get less merchandise than others though, I love coming across a random piece of merchandise based on an obscure character! If Basil of Baker Street suddenly became a popular character and had merchandise everywhere, it wouldn't be as fun to find a rare piece of merchandise in the back of a collector's shop anymore. Do you get what I mean?

Most of the 70s/80s characters, maybe.

Ooh definitely Jose Carioca and Panchito Pistoles! I think they should in another animated project

Good choice! These are two remarkable characters. They're very well known in The Netherlands, because so many comics of them were/are being made there. Joe merchandise would sell terrific in Brazil, where he's hugely popular.

True, I'm very happy that the Mickey and Friends Universe is so well loved in the Netherlands and Italy, with comics made for them and so. :D Panchito and Jose are very well loved in Mexico and Brazil respectively too (they call Jose "Zé" in Brazil, and have a monthly comic book about him).

I think in Japan/Tokyo Disney Sea they're very beloved characters as well.

In comparision, Disney in the USA barely uses them because parents don't want their children to see cartoons using guns or smoking, and take cues from them.

I'd love to see some Robin Hood merchandise. As well as Great Mouse Detective. As a kid, I always wished I had a Ratigan plush.

Pretty much any character from the 70's and 80's really! It gets disappointing to walk into a Disney Store and almost always see all the same characters. I understand that some are just more popular, but there are others- especially those that aren't princesses, that need a bit more love.

I picked up my very first vinylmation figure about a month ago from a trip to the Disney Store, and I got Panchito! He wasn't my first choice from the set (that would be Basil), but I love having a little bit of merchandise for the character.

I also remember seeing a card at Hallmark with the Three Caballeros a year or so ago. Not a whole lot, but that was pretty cool.

I also saw plush toys of Jose and Panchito at a Disney Store a while back. I've noticed the plush section at Disney Stores tends to be the place to find characters the studio normally doesn't give a lot of attention towards.

Anyway, as a fan of the Three Caballeros, I too like seeing the occasional merchandise that pops up.

Alongside Jose and Panchito, I would love to see merchandise of the Aracuan Bird.

And Ichabod Crane, although that is never going to happen.

The male characters and sidekicks and villains from the "princess films", in contrast to only promoting the princesses.

Also characters from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules. And some of the movies from the 2000's (The Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet).
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

Yeah it seems that as of the 2010's it still happens when it comes to it's villians but for the male characters they are getting more attention (Flynn Rider in Tangled).

This.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Disney princesses as much as the next fan. But compared to them, the heroes/princes, sidekicks and villains get little to no advertisement. Even Jasmine gets promoted more than her boyfriend, Aladdin, and the movie is named after him, not that stupid bitch! :x

 Sorry.

So glad to see so much Panchito and Jose love around here! I'd take merchandise of them over stupid princes any day of the week. :P

Getting so steamed up over a fictional character and calling it "stupid bitch" doesn't seem like it to me. Perhaps you forgot to take your meds today?

Anyway I never thought Jasmine was stupid. Either of those titles belong to Ariel or any of the "naive" princesses (Rapunzel...:D). "Bitchy"...Maybe Megara.

Whatevers anyway. All of these characters just blow. :P
