Stupid question, I'm sure, but to be able to play with a certain character, you would have to buy the toy version of each character? There are no other charcters to play with besides Sparrow, Sully and Mr. Incredible in the starter set? It looks like a cool game, but it will be crazy expensive if one is to buy all the characters eventually.

And how about those disc's available for purchase - one disc equals the possibility to play in a new Disney world?

To play as a character - yes, you need to have their figure. It will absolutely be crazy expensive. It's evil and genius. But the figures are really really nice. If you aren't a collector, this is not the game for you.

The discs are simply additions to the Toy Box. Some are items like cars or horses or weapons, some change the theme of your Toy Box to look like Wonderland, or Tangled, etc. Some give you power-ups. They aren't essential to playing the game at all, but they are fun little additions.

The play sets are what allow you to play in a new Disney world. The Pirates playset takes you to the Caribbean, the Cars playset takes you to Radiator Springs, etc.

So far I have found Sully to be the weakest character, out of the ones I have played as. His roar feels like a weak attack, and compared to Mr. Incredible and Dash, he seems lacking in abilities.

For playsets, I have nearly cleared all of Monster's University (mostly stuck on the bike challenges) and nearly cleared the Incredibles level. I picked up the Lone Ranger playset, and have actually enjoyed that one the most.

Vehicle stuff in the playsets is a tad annoying for me, I find the bikes to be flimsy and the controls all around just feel a bit off. The Lone Ranger 'vehicle' is actually the one I've had the easiest time with.

Dash feels pretty powerful, his speed attacks can fairly easily wipe out multiple opponents.

Tonto and the Lone Ranger are nice to play as due to their ranged weapons that give you a chance to pick off further away enemies, on top of melee attacks for up close.

I haven't tried any of the hexagon discs yet, largely because I want to get as much unlocked for the toy box as possible using Wave 1's figures/sets. The two circular discs that I have are pretty nice, and really help with getting me more sparks to level up, plus more coins to spend on items.

The overall game is a lot of fun, I just hope that Disney keeps adding a lot of great content in future figures and playsets.

So I decided to buy this game, and it seems like great fun! Have played for several hours, but have only scratched the surface yet. And I have yet to understand how everything works.

The toys are really nicely done, and I hope Disney will release many more. And not only the princesses, but also male characters like Aladdin, Hercules, Philip, Eric etc and some Disney villains (Jafar, Maleficent, Hades etc). I'm okay with having to buy the toy version of the characters you like to play as, but I find it irritating that it is random which power discs you end up with when you buy additional bags of power discs. You might end up with the same disc again and again, and I have no friends who plays this game to trade with.

The additional figures do not qualify for Layaway, as each item must be 19.99 USD or more to qualify. I know this the hard way, as I tried to layaway the XBOX 360 version of Fable III as part of an XBOX 360 layaway and learned that since the game was marked down to around 15.99 USD, it didn't qualify.

cant you lay away a group of items to reach the qualifying amount? so instead of one character, pick 5 and have them on lay away.
