I thought that Pocahontas didn't do so well because it turned American History into a Romeo and Juliet tale which ticked some people off ? And as another member mentioned before it was rather serious and " stiff " xD

It was meant to be sort of racist; so then the main character Pocahontas could prove them wrong and tell them that racism was wrong. The characters doing wrong, so Pocahontas could drive them down the right path sending the racism is wrong message across.

So, I heard that the Snow Queen in the original fairy tale is actually set in Norway and that is why this movie has so much Norwegian influence in it. If so this would defiantly be a big take that to those critics online saying this is just another generic white princess movie. A European culture can just be as exotic and interesting as an Inuit setting. The fact that they really did their research on Norway shows that there is so much about the country I didn't know until hearing this movie had great influence from there.

I know, but people said "it was racist" or stuff like that because the movie pictured american indians as nature lovers and wise people while the british were trying to learn from them and stuff. Another reason of the "flop" (because I think it didn't really flop) was the one you mention. What they turned American History into. I still really like the movie and the things i don't like about it are too far from this reasons. I think the scenarios are kind of boring and the villain (and all the british people, actually) are not that interesting as they should be. I used to hate Meeko and Percy but now I get they show how the cultures learnt to live together. Still don't get the bird idea.

And again, NO ELSA AND ANNA ETC. :glare: :glare: :glare:
Yuck! I dislike this marketing style of what is supposed to be a contemporary spin on a classic tale. It hampered Tangled for me, and it'll probably hamper this one too.

A big wave of Frozen merchandise was released 20 minutes ago... I really hoped that they released the new trailer on the Frozen page... But eh.. What's 10 days?

^ It's a link to the Frozen merchandise. Surprisingly, it looks like the UK Store hasn't been updated yet.

About the song they have chosen for the beginning of the movie, I think it sounds quite epic and, like many of you, I like that they are incorporating music inspired by Scandinavian culture in the film. But, couldn’t the Lopezs have written an original song in that style, or Christophe Beck an instrumental piece with chorus, instead of using pre-existing music?

And speaking of the music, I don’t know if someone has noticed that, according to Amazon.com, the soundtrack of Saving Mr. Banks is also Deluxe and has 2 discs like Frozen. Maybe is a new format for Disney soundtracks. I’m curious to know what they’ll include in those discs.

:?: One related question: I remember someone in this thread said that the Pocahontas soundtrack was released with 2 discs. Is that true? Because the CD I own, which I bought from Amazon UK, has only one disc.

Has anyone with a Twitter dared to ask her where exactly -- that is, on which one of Disney's many Web pages and Facebook pages and YouTube channels -- the trailer will debut first?

And would it be at 00:01 in the morning on the 26th, Pacific Daylight Time? That's when, it seems, the Frozen merchandise appeared on the Disney Store, on the promised date.

The theatrical poster is so cringeworthy. It's worse than those Olaf character posters.

Jeez! C'mon guys! Have the actual main characters up there taking center stage instead of the sidekicks! Y'know because what the movie's really about is two sisters! At least even though the Genie did take up much of the publicity for Aladdin (much to Robin Williams's chagrin), we still knew who it was about even before going into the movie because there was just as much attention given to the title character.

I hate to say this guys, but I'm dreading that the next trailer will indeed be another Olaf-focused one.

I actually like the new FROZEN poster!

It still has Olaf as the lead, but it actually has the characters! And it’s very cute! :) Not to mention that Anna looks pretty.

It reminds me of the Tangled teaser poster. In that one we only saw the characters faces like here, and they were sorrounded by hair while here they are covered with snow.

 That's exactly what was going through my mind.

A Goofy looking snowman who collects severed human heads.
