In the second picture I noticed how demonic Hans look. And it's kind of scary. I wonder what will happen to his horse Lemon.taei wrote:Kristoff was going to leave, but then Anna surprised him with a Kiss.

Yep, Hans defiantly will fit right in with the other villains. I have a feeling he will be buddies with Gaston and Rourke from Atlantis

Yeah, Hans defiantly makes a better villain than the Duke besides I think that duke would have been another Radcliffe. Hans is the new Gaston of the 21st century.

The whole "This is the age where a woman has to be the one who kisses the man first" I'm not being sexist, but it's deeper and more meaningful when it comes from the guy. Especially in this movie, where he pins over her while she's constantly talking about her love.qindarka wrote: What does this have to do with Tangled?

I hope the scene with H and A in the library won't be too clumsy, you know, those scenes i hate where the villain HAS to explain what his own plan was in front of the victim and the audience... So cliché !!! " Gnark gnark gnark you little naive thing dont u know i was pretending and now my victory is nearly achieved i will be THE MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE gnark gnark gnark !!!! "

Is there a clear lead of the two sisters in the film do you think, or is it an even split ?

Re: Frozen: Part IV
I can't say I was any part of a huge network of Disney fans back in the day, and I often think about how different it was back before I was able to join any online communities such as this one. And maybe it's why I can take so many harsh criticisms I've been seeing with a grain of salt.jazzflower92 wrote:Maybe this is just a Disney fan thing. Did Disney fans back then had anything to say about those changes from the original fairy tale?RyGuy wrote: Actually, I was like this LONG before the Internet came along. For instance, I bought the soundtrack for Beauty and the Beast (on cassette - lol) and memorized it probably a month before the movie came out.
And I would scour the newspaper and magazines looking for any info about upcoming films, their casts, their plot, etc.
I'm still surprised . . . I just like my surprises early
I had cassettes of Oliver & Co., The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Aladdin, Lion King, Pocahontas, Toy Story, etc. all months before the films themselves were released, and thus I already had the songs memorized by the time I finally got to see them in the theater. In fact, we were running late for Beauty and the Beast, so I recited the prologue for everyone in the car in case we missed it upon entering!
I actually got a major spoiler about the ending of Pocahontas through Entertainment Weekly months before it was in theaters, and sat in the Border's bookstore in downtown Chicago and read the junior novelization around the same time. I also read some harsh criticisms against Disney through EW (the supposed subliminal messages) in a later issue shortly before Hunchback was released, along with some spoilers from that film. It was around the time of Hunchback that I started interacting with more Disney fans through snail-mail (I wasn't cool enough for internet yet), and I don't recall anyone being overly-critical of new material; we were just happy to share whatever slim pickings we could get our hands on and talked about what our likes and dislikes whenever we finally got to see any new films. A hot topic for discussion was the mystery behind The Black Cauldron, since it hadn't had any home video release yet! Most of us migrated over to using the internet as our main discussion area about ten years ago, around the time a lot of us were losing enthusiasm since Disney was reportedly closing down its hand-drawn department and the films were less exciting in general anyway.
I can only imagine what it might be like had The Little Mermaid been released in this day and age, with fans pouring over every little leaked detail, making up conspiracy theories and reading too much into plot points. I was 13 when it was released, and aside from the soundtrack and the children's books/merchandise, all I can remember finding is a teeny little article from an issue of Newsweek that my mom wouldn't let me buy.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
ugh! Hans you sexy evil coat wearing bastard!
But I really do hope he isnt just some lame mustache twirler whos acting nice & then suddenly reveals his true self in the last minute for shock value. I hope its slowly build up & there's some exploration of why the guy got this way. A scene or a song ala Hellfire from HOND that fleshes him out a bit, though Im not sure where a song like that would fit in the narrative when theyre supposed to be masking his evilness(from the audience). I just think if done this way it would be a nice twist of the disney concept of "be positive, brave & strong, follow your dream & youll get your happy ending." Hans could be the dark version of that mythos.
Re: Frozen: Part IV
I feel like Anna will get the spotlight, we hear more about her yet she's the one we care the least about...
I like my version of the hans twist better...

Here's hoping you get to attend the free screening for Frozen!
haha thanks very much!

Not really a spoiler but to be safe why on earth would a woman's kiss/initiation of a kiss be less "meaningful" than a man's? This is like textbook sexism, dude. Uncool. It's fine if you prefer an aggressive man over a passive one, but making blanket statements like this...
My own take on recent spoilers: I swear that illustration of Hans sneering & dousing the fire makes my heart race, lol. Such a soft spot for sexy bad guys. I am praying we get a fantastic villain song for him...and then what, he leaves Anna alone to die in the cold, dark library? So evil! Also, doesn't it look like Anna is puckering for a kiss in that picture with her hands on his chest? I wonder if we'll get a Hans/Anna kiss.
Also ugh the trolls look ADORABLE. I am crazy in love with this movie already.

I wonder what Hans's full demise will be like. I know they have only a brief description of what happened but I have a feeling it will be great once its shown onscreen. I think that Hans will be placed in the Disney villains who are remembered for their vileness and lack of super powers.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
Precisely. I missed it. Does someone know what happens to Hans ? Tell me he's totally FROZEN by Elsa this time, not JUST punched, stabbed, banished or pushed from a cliff, plleeeeasssse !!!!jazzflower92 wrote:I wonder what Hans's full demise will be like. On another plan : concerning the stunning fan made video. Brilliantly brilliant. But let's just keep in mind Elsa is shown that way at the end of the song. At the beginning, she's running away in her black and purple dress, and finally in the climax, i guess she transforms, changes her dress and undoes her hair as she unleashes her powers to built the palace... we can see a bit of it in the japan trailer.

Re: Frozen: Part IV
Having read most of the Junior Novelization, the clear lead is Anna. It's definitely not an even split. It's similar to how Vanellope becomes the lead in Wreck-It Ralph. At the beginning you think the narrative will revolve around Ralph but once you enter Suger Rush it becomes Vanellope's story. Following the same route, at the beginning you think this is going to be Elsa's story but pretty much after the prologue it becomes Anna's story.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:Is there a clear lead of the two sisters in the film do you think, or is it an even split?

Please don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say.phan258 wrote: Not really a spoiler but to be safe why on earth would a woman's kiss/initiation of a kiss be less "meaningful" than a man's? From what I've seen from the spoilers so far here is how I see the characters:
1. Anna: clumsy idiot who falls in love with the first prince she sees, unable to see the real love in front of her.
2. Kristoff: Has real deep feelings for Anna but is unable to do anything about it because she constantly talks about Hans.
It's more meaningful for Kristoff because he has been pinning over her. Not because he's a man and she's a woman. This has nothing to do with their gender, it has to do with the way that the characters act and their personalities and their characterization.
Now, What I meant when I mentioned Tangled is that I remember when the movie was announced, one of the first things that I read was how Rapunzel was going to be a strong independent woman showcasing feminism. And at the end Disney was probably like, "Yeah, lets give her more girl power by making her the first princess to surprise-kiss her love"
Why I don't like it is not because she's a girl and he's a boy, NO! It's because it makes sense for Flynn to be the one to overcome his trust issues and finally open up to her. It made sense from within his character development to be the one who kisses Rapunzel because It'll have been his last piece of character development. I always thought it was out of place and odd in the movie when Rapunzel does it.
I have no problem with feminism, I grew up in a feminist environment. It made sense for Ariel to save Eric. It made sense for Belle to stand up for herself and not let people dictate her life. But when it comes to something like showing your romantic notions, I feel like these should be thought out. Rapunzel might have fallen for Flynn, but him falling for her was a bigger deal BECAUSE OF HIS CHARACTER, NOT HIS GENDER. Same thing with Anna and Kristoff, it makes sense for the guy whose been pining over girl to make the first move BECAUSE HE'S BEEN PINING OVER HER! NOT BECAUSE HE'S AN "AGGRESSIVE" MAN. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, NOT BECAUSE HE'S A MAN, BUT BECAUSE HIS CHARACTER WAS WRITTEN THAT WAY.
I hope you understood what I'm trying to say. And I do apologize if my tone came off too strong. I just don't like it when people blatantly attack me on the forums.

I wonder if we will see more of Hans's horse during the movie even after its revealed that Han's is evil.
