Post by disneyboy20022 »

This is to discuss the article that Jon Negroni wrote here's the link to it

http://jonnegroni.com/2013/07/11/the-pixar-theory/

Also someone else has written a Disney Theory in the same way by Josh Butler

Nothing but fanwank here, huge stretches made to try and tie it all together. Its not what was intended at all.

If you want an Pixar theory that doesn't force the square peg of Cars into the round hole of everything else and doesn't have stupid "Monsters is timetravel and Boo is the Brave Witch", read mine

http://disney-expanded-universe.tumblr. ... r-timeline

That Disney one could be better assembled too.

They look nothing alike. Unless she was younger then since she prayed for love and married Cinderella's Dad but then he died and then she put her anger and hate on Cinderella to make her feel better ??

But she looks so much older so maybe she prayed for love thinking that love would heal her anger and her past where she treated Cinderella terribly ???

Hey Frollo was horny and available

But it's so not her.

Both theories suck and there are huge stretches in both. Major fault of the Disney theory is counting cameos and Easter eggs as having any influence on whether or not they belong to the same universe.

For me, there are two Disney universes (excluding package films):
1. All films with humans belong to the same universe (this also includes Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Lion King, Dinosaur, etc.)
2. Robin Hood, Chicken Little and all other films with anthropomorphic animals are a universe of their own.

The Rescuers, The Great Mouse Detective and Home on the Range could either be a sub-universe of No. 1 or a universe of its own, due to animals in these films interacting with humans, but wearing some sort of clothing.

As for Pixar, I'm grouping films in universes based on design of humans.
1. Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and by extension A Bug's Life (the trailer Randall ends up in is the same trailer from ABL) have fairly realistic-looking humans, so they belong to the same universe
2. Humans in Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up and Brave are more cartoony in design, so that's another universe
3. Wall-E is a universe of this own
4. Cars / Planes universe

1, 2 and 3 could also be the same universe.

Wow, I did not spot the books in the Tangled scene ! It's The Little Mermaid Broadway poster being used as the book cover ! I'm glad I read it just for that !

Don't more than one of the Disney Princesses appear in Sofia the First TV Show?

Interesting read, but I doubt the premise. It's common for character designs to be recycled in animation, and given that all Disney movies are tied together strictly in the sense that they come from the same franchise, it makes sense to throw in a lot of cameo appearances in their movies, just to get a "hey, look, it's so-and-so!" reaction from the audience.

Perhaps they got this idea from Kingdom Hearts........

I dunno- in KH they just work with the premise of every single Disney movie being a different world- but they don't use the crazy logics of this theory like time travel or such (only in the Disney stuff- apparently now their original stuff involves time travel as well).

Well actually there was time travel in the most recent game. Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS

I'm watching "8 Awesome Facts About 'Toy Story 2'" on Disney Movies Anywhere, and it hints that Jessie's original owner Emily is Andy's mom. Old info that I just missed over the years?

They would be a really cool connection, I never thought about it (and I've never heard that before). Come to think of it, didn't the girl who dropped Jessie off look sort of like Andy's mom? I haven't watched TS2 in a while.
