Disney Digital Copy +

Post by MickeyMouseboy »

Hello Everyone,

Much of you know the SITS and RH both come with Digital Copies that are not compatible with iTunes. You can only redeem them from Amazon or Vulu..... (i've called Disney and they have stated this) I put in the codes on Amazon and have gotten credits towards movie purchases. My question is has anyone tried buying another movie with the credits provided? I'm one mad mouse since I can't get my movies through iTunes so I rather get something else..

I'm sorry you missed out on the iTunes, but the vudu service is just as good, actually it's better. It's available on more devices, like Roku, Xbox, Playstation, in addition to iPhone and iPad. Oh, and almost every streaming device you can think of. The Image quality is fabulous!

Why would anyone want to watch a movie on a little dinky screen like an iPhone or Kindle? I have a 60" 'Smart' HDTV and to me that is the only way to watch a movie. Even our grand kids don't watch movies in the car on their 7" screens. They play games instead because the movies don't look the same on those small screens. Just saying what I am told.

Personally, I don't understand what the fascination is with watching a movie without the full theater sound that you have at home? You aren't supposed to watch movies in class at school, and if you do then you aren't learning whatever the class lesson is for that day.

I was a guest speaker at a local High School last year, and before I spoke the teacher collected all the cell phones, tablets, and whatever electronics she could come up with. I had had a bad experience in another class at the same high school previously and this teacher seemed to care.

There are a lot of times/places where one might want to watch a movie when they don't have the luxury of a 60" HDTV, besides when they are supposed to be in class. Flying on an airplane perhaps . . . riding the train to work . . . killing time waiting for someone/something.

And while you and your grandkids are certainly entitled to your preferences about how you like to watch your movies, your preferences aren't universal. My kids (5, 4 and 2) love to watch movies on the tiny screen in our mini van. It was a godsend on the drive to and from Disney World this past spring.

And I've been known to catch 20 minutes of something here or there on my iPhone. Would I prefer to watch on a large TV, with better sound and all at once? Sure. But sometimes I take what I can get when I can get it (i.e., some is better than none).

i would have been lost without the small screens on airplanes when i flew new zealand to canada and return. flying over i watched brave, aladdin and a couple of others. coming back, i saw pirates of the caribbean, rise of the guardians, the croods and a couple of live action johnny depp and leonardo di caprio films. made the 20+hour flights just vanish. between those and my ipod, i retained my sanity. last time i flew that far, they had one large screen at the front of the cabin, the films were rubbish, and ipods hadnt been invented yet. much prefer having a smaller screen, and being able to choose what and whether i watched something or not.

I'm right with you RyGuy. Of course watching it at home on a big screen TV is preferred (for that matter, watching in a theater is preferred), but there are so many situations where being able to watch things on the go is fantastic. I often do on my lunch break at work.

I'm bummed to hear that Digital Copy is no longer going through iTunes.
