The Happy News Thread

Post by Wonderlicious »

While it's healthy to rant about all our problems, it's also just as healthy, if not even more so, to focus about the good things happening in our life. As such, I thought I'd start this thread. List some happy pieces of news for all the world to read! I'll start with a few (there probably are more):

King (not Queen ;)) of the Pride
For many years, I was trapped in the closet, but this year, I finally destroyed those doors and have come out as a gay man with little drama and positive support. Of course, I still haven't got many gay friends (or a boyfriend), but I'm more at one with myself. Six months ago, I would've flat out lied about my sexuality; now, I can say it how it is with no qualms whatsoever. I'm very lucky to have not had any bad reactions, particularly from straight men. I recently attended my first Pride festival and hopefully it won't be the last.

Babies!
This past month, my extended family got bigger. My cousin's wife gave birth to a baby girl at the beginning of the month, while my other cousin have birth to a baby boy a few weeks later. I have yet to meet them, but I've seen photos on Facebook and they are adorable. :)

Saludos Amigos, love Wondy
In just over two months time, I'm going to South America! I plan on visiting Argentina and Brazil, and possibly Uruguay and/or Paraguay. I'll be spending two weeks voluteering for education projects in Buenos Aires, followed by a two-week road trip up to Rio de Janeiro via Iguazu Falls. This is my first time on this continent, so I'm both excited and scared.

My family adopted a new dog about a month ago. We named her Roxie and she's a 3 yr old Jack Russell Chihuahua mix. She loves sitting on our laps, but goes insane whenever there's a cat or squirrel outside. We also have to hold her when someone goes out the front door so she won't escape.
