I have the Platinum Edition Blu-ray, it makes no sense to pick it up AGAIN. I am sure they will just reuse the Platinum Edition Restoration transfer and leave half the bonus features off lol.gamer51 wrote:Just keep in mind that sleeping beauty will be released as a diamond edition next fall.my chicken is infected wrote:I'll probably pick up Sleeping Beauty too

In light of the announcement of Frozen's comprehensive soundtrack, I'm really really really hoping to maybe see some special edition releases that include complete score and deleted songs/demos of older films. Beauty and the Beast would be at the top of my list - finding a rip is one thing, but an official release would be fantastic. I'm dreaming, I know.

This sounds like an official soundtrack.SWillie! wrote:In light of the announcement of Frozen's comprehensive soundtrack, I'm really really really hoping to maybe see some special edition releases that include complete score and deleted songs/demos of older films. A complete soundtrack sounds absoultely amazing!
I own the 2-Disc DVD version Beauty and the Beast and the restoration here doesn't bother me as much because I am someone who can't tell the difference of the restoration to the real thing because I just want to watch my favorite Disney movies no matter what Disney does with their "restorations".
Is there a website where there is comparisons to the original theatrical colors and the Blu-Ray? Thanks.

Sorry to go off-topic for a bit, but remember this Matt? That was me who sent you the album, long before I registered on the site
Thought I'd end the mystery after 6 years
Anyway I hope the full scores of the later classics of the nineties will find their way...

This is really gorgeous. I wish I had a way to get this at a reasonable price...goofystitch wrote:I didn't see this in past pages, but if it's already been posted I apologize. I just received my copy of the book set from Disney Movie Club and thought I would share pictures. The book is very similar to the one that came with Snow White. I was worried that it would be a small copy of the new 'Tale as Old as Time: The Art and Making of Beauty and the Beast' book that came out last month. The artwork is very similar to the Best Buy steel case. The first 64 pages of the book covers the making of the film, with lots of concept art and behind the scenes photos. A lot of them can be found in the other book, but a few are unique to this set. The bulk of the book (99 pages) is devoted to retelling the story using a mix of screen caps and concept art. The final section is called 'Be Our Guest' and offers 13 recipes inspired by the film. This section is the biggest difference from the Snow White book. The third section in that book was devoted to the legacy of the film. I haven't had a chance to sit down and read it yet, but thumbing through it looks just as good as the Snow White book, but if you're looking for a more detailed read I recommend 'Tale as Old as Time," which is all about the history of the film.
