Re: The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition - Fall 2013
Is there any way possible we can let Disney know about that issue?
Again, I pray the mistake won't be on the Blu-ray here in the US.

Re: The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition - Fall 2013
Disney being as lazy as they´ve shown us with the lack of care in consistency with discs art, porting Extras, making new covers...
...how come they put that much effort into messing up scenes of the movies?
It just doesn´t make sense.
Again, if we were talking about a company that puts so much effort and care in it´s releases I´d understand this. But Disney is clearly not the case.

I remain speechless at this fucking incompetence.
I have just cancelled my UK preorder.

Do you think that's the sensible thing to do? I too have preordered the boxset. I am so beyond disappointed with this whole mess.Jules wrote:I remain speechless at this fucking incompetence.![]()

Would tweeting Disney bring the issue to attention or no?

Funny you ask that, I just sent Disney an email about the matter and whether or not the issue will be present on the American release.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:Do you think that's the sensible thing to do? I can confirm that this production issue is also present in the US iTunes version as well.rodis wrote:I just watched the blu ray and although I'm only half way through, I just had to point out a few things.
1. The "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" always appeared when we see those corals or whatever but now it's when we see the little fish from afar swimming away from the ship.
2. After the shark scene, when we see Ariel and Flounder swimming up to see Scuttle, it used to fade into the very first image of Scuttle, but now it just cuts to him without fading out.
And, brace yourselves for the next one...
Remember when Ariel reaches her hand out at the end of Part of Your World? Then we see her from afar under a beam of light, and then we see Flounder sighing... Now it's the other way around. We first see Flounder and then Ariel is under the light. And it looks awfully weird because then it cuts right to Ariel sitting on the rock singing the last "...world".
Seems like they put it in the wrong order

Re: The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition - Fall 2013
The following opinion will not be liked
I'm still getting it, as it's the movie I know in high def. I have the DVD for the correct version, and perhaps since this is a Diamond Edition, Disney would offer a recall on the discs. I'd say there is better chance of it happening to Mermaid than Sword in the Stone.
I bring this up, because Pinocchio had a big error and they offered a replacement, but then again that was when Disney didn't make that many mistakes on their Blu Rays....

Beauty and the Beast also had an error on the first BR´s in Spain.
When watching the movie in Spanish, at the beginning of it when the voice is telling Beast´s story at some point the audio goes off and then back again. Very briefly but it happened.
Disney took notice and they did offer replacements for those BR´s.
As such, I think a replacement could happen.

Enough people raised their voices and complained, hence why Disney offered a replacement.disneyboy20022 wrote:I bring this up, because Pinocchio had a big error and they offered a replacement, but then again that was when Disney didn't make that many mistakes on their Blu Rays....
If this problem will be fixed, the best thing to do is to let Disney know, without sounding like raving fanboys about it (so no phrases like "f*cking incompetence"). Be eloquent and civil, while still voicing your disappointment in the product. As much as it pains me to say this, don't write about this mistake as something that's ruining "the integrity of the film" or anything else that's more suited for an intellectual film discussion. Save that for message boards, not for Customer Service.
They're a business, let them know that you do not want this product if it will be faulty. It's not meeting the standards you expect, it's not something for which you'll pay your money. Let them know you'll gladly purchase this product if they offered it with this mistake rectified, or if they have to offer a replacement program, even if it's one not ready until after the release date.

Thats the thing for me. I mean, if something like this had happened with, for example the first scene I would be annoyed but would still buy it. Truth be told I always found myself skipping that scene anyway. But the Part of Your World scene? You just don't go changing the order of shots here. Its been engrained in fans minds. This scene more than any other in the movie most likely.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:And of all scenes for it to happen to as well
I dont see them doing a replacement unfortunetly. If they weren't willing to do it with the lion king (referring to the missing mufasa cloud mainly, but there were other errors worth correcting too) then I don't think there's any hope of us. Assuming the error is present with the US transfer.

(wait, you have a Blu-ray.com Account also? Awesome!)
This is DisneyFTW1, a former Youtube account that was terminated by Disney themselves. My current Youtube Account is FilmFTW2 (FilmFTW1 was terminated). Youtube sucks when it comes to film uploads, and it sucks even more when major corporations are following your channels. But what can I do?

Okay, really. Is Disney TRYING to hurt its own movie sales?
I just hope they hear us out on this issue and that we don't have to see this screw-up on the Blu-ray here in the states.

Re: The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition - Fall 2013
I usually just get annoyed at this type of stuff...but this is my favorite movie of all time....

I've sent a very polite email to Disney about this, explaining to them that I have canceled my pre-order until it confirmed that this mistake will not be in the US release, or a replacement disc will be offered. I'm about 99.9% sure it will do ZERO good.
I know it seems weird, but I could never watch, and enjoy, a version of this movie where glaring editing mistake has been made to one of the most celebrated and iconic musical sequences in Disney history. I can live with the first two alterations...I don't like them, but I could watch the film without it effecting me much....but not this crap with Part of Your World.
This really is the last straw for me on these moronic issues with the current state of Disney Home Entertainment.
