I love how the trailer is focusing on the adventure over the 'Princess' aspect. And even the Diamond Edition - basically advertising it as the film that 'gave voice to a generation'. Amazing !

Love how they have dropped the 'II' for Return to the Sea. Much better than the disaster that is the Cinderella II/Twist in Time trailer.

Hey I've just recieved an email from amazon.com. The Blu-Ray 3D of The Little Mermaid finally comes out on October 1st. I've read lots of rumors saying that the Blu-Ray 3D would be released months after the regular Blu-Ray, so I can sleep in peace now ^^

There were rumors of the Blu-ray 3D delayed? ... no I don't think so. I could have sworn that both the 2D Blu-ray and 3D blu-ray would come out the same day from the beginning. A DVD-only version, though, would probably be delayed 7 weeks to give fans the jump into the Blu-ray format since the DVD version would be included.
Even if it were delayed, it wouldn't matter to me, since the 2D-Blu-ray would be the main version that I'm getting. A native 2D film should strictly be seen in 2D. ... that's just my opinion.

You can watch any 3D film in 2D, but not the other way around.

Besides, most films lend themselves very well to 3D conversions (if done correctly). Look at TITANIC and JURASSIC PARK.

Actually, only select 3D Blu rays allow for 2D viewing.

If I had a 3DTV, I'd watch the 3D version out of curiosity.

I dont own a 3D set yet, but dont they have some built in toggle to turn it off? All it has to do is turn off one of the eyes.

A 3DTV would, I guess. Yeah.

I amend my previous statement to include that the aforementioned 3D Blu-rays could be authored to play on 2D equipment.

This is so sloppy, I can't even deal. It is the SAME UK trailer for the Platinum that they are using for the Diamond. The wording, the clips...everything. The only change is 'Make It Part Of Your World' at the end.

Feel like I am THIS CLOSE to giving up on Disney home releases, truly.

It's not the same as the 2D version though.

The old trailer looks pretty awful in comparison. The new one is much nicer.

Now now, that's just advertising. Just be glad that the actual Blu-ray transfer's different and better than these clips provided. (unless my eyes mistaken me.) It may be a copy of the ad, but yet again, they could've made it worse when making a new one.

Why didn't we just have the US version then ? That is a far superior trailer; why bother to shove alternate titles on to a five year old version ?

... Oh, THAT trailer! Totally forgot about the new US one. ... well, actually I'm trying to avoid any new trailers from ruining the newly-remastered HD experience.
... Well... shame to International Disney marketing, then. But hey, at least the UK can view the US Blu-ray trailer online. ... wait, that UK trailer isn't shown on a few recent UK Disney Blu-rays, right?

Yikes! That definitely IS lazy. The new trailer is made already for the US! They could've saved more by using the new trailer, but I'm guessing that creating a new ad using the Platinum Edition ad as its basis could actually be cheaper! ... Derp.
Didn't think Disney wouldn't fully care much when it comes to Foreign countries.

I think they have gone past the point of not caring - just given up on us. Messed up the titles in the Diamond line, shoving two Diamond releases within weeks of eachother, no big promo for any release, reused cover art constantly ... beyond crap.

Thought I'd ask here; do you guys know of anywhere I can get hold of the 'newer' version of Part Of Your World, that they use in Wishes and the Disney on Ice shows?

Is there an official recording anywhere?

This French DVD cover for the trilogy is an interesting mash up of several designs.

Or it could be I have had a really long week, it's Friday, and my mind is playing tricks

I can't help you, but I was wondering if you could clarify what the new version of "PoYW" is? How is it different? (And is it somewhere on YouTube to listen to?)
