One thing going for the Disney films is that they don´t particularly show an era and artistically speaking they stand the test of time.
Still...not all the original/old ones fare better than others; at least to one´s tastes. So, let´s talk about them here:
1. Snow White: Was one of my least favorites. Because of Snow White´s voice and songs; same with Prince´s. However, upon repeated viewings it grew on me more and more to the point that it´s a movie I could watch with no problems.
2. Pinocchio: Not so keen on the soundtrack but given the fact of the dark atmosphere ends up being one of the betters as well.
3. Fantasia: Not a movie I can watch often. In fact I barely do. However, once I let myself go I do like it. But have to watch it in a real mood...like a rainy day.
4. Dumbo: From the first 5 this is the only that feels extremely fresh. Don´t know the reason why. Because of that I find it the more "watchable" of all.
5. Bambi: Not one of my favorites. Find it extremely boring. Like Fantasia not a movie I watch often.
12. Cinderella: From Walt´s fairytales is the one that best stands time. Also, the soundtrack is very good. The mice parts drag the film at times but I guess it had to be done this way in order for boys to watch it and stretch the story.
13. Alice in Wonderland: One of the most fun of all the Classics. The songs kind of show their time but since they´re very short don´t drag. One that I can watch anytime.
14. Peter Pan: Almost like Alice. I like the beginning and how it starts moving along. Still, there are parts where I loose interest. Don´t know why since I like most of the characters.
15. Lady and the Tramp: Don´t really get the appeal for it. The movie is so slow that bores me at times. Not one of my favorites. And is one to watch relaxed at night.
16. Sleeping Beauty: A movie that, like Snow White, grew up on me after repeated watchings. Yes, the movie is slow and drags at times but it makes up for it by the incredible medieval art, Maleficent and the fairies...not to mention the climax. Another movie I like to watch at night.
17. 101 Dalmatians: Like how it feels modern despite it´s period time. Other than that I don´t love it like so many people do. To me it is just ok.
18. The Sword in the Stone: Love it! Just fun, funny and charming. Great characters! Feels fresh and one I can watch anytime.
19. The Jungle Book: Like 101 Dalmatians is a movie that never has clicked for me. Don´t get why so many people adore it. I guess I´ll wait for it to be released on BR to see if then it changes my mind.
Don´t count the in between films as Classics myself. If anything The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad enjoying much more the Ichabod part.
