That deleted scene of Scar is creepy.I think my childhood was assualted.
I really hope the Duke is a minor villain. He wants to exploit Arendelle's tradable goods. He obvs talking about ice.But it's still a wierd motive. It's not like Arendelle exports ice under cruel intentions in the first plave. In fact, the sami people (including Kristoff) have no problem harvesting ice..What if the ice trading actually helps Arendelle during Elsa's abscence? This makes the Duke look like the bastard of an anti-industrialization activist and Ratcliffe.(Which is a wierd combination of egg and sperm)

As for Elsa,I think it would be really cute if she had this Victoria/Albert relationship with Hans. Hans will do something, and Elsa would take it the wrong way and say,"You made me look like an idiot!I am the queen! And I must look powerful!".Hans would reply,"I'm sworry."The next day,Hans does something to show his protection and love.Elsa apologies ,and they kiss.It would be so cute! ^.^

Hey, that's lovely. :-D That would be perfect. And it would be so right for their characters. It makes me smile just thinking about it.

There's the approach I'm now hoping for...

She wouldn't be alone. She'd have her sister by her side again.

I was just about to post that. She feels alone because she isn't with her family and/or she doesn't feel accepted by them. At the end, she'll have both. I wouldn't call that "alone." I don't think it would ruin the film, and I doubt most viewers would care enough to walk out. But I could be wrong, since I've never walked out of a film before just for the simple fact that I paid for it. :P

@Sotiris: I didn't know they actually had a deleted scene for that. I just assumed it was an idea they had during the film that they included in the musical later. Interesting. I'm guessing they dropped the scene because Scar wanting Nala at the time of his song would be very...pedo. Puke. It's interesting that Disney has so many male villains that have intentions on the film's love interest (they might have it for another woman, but 1 young, female character is usually all that's allowed in Disney films... :P ), but none with the gender roles reversed. Ursula would be the closest, but she had no real sexual/romantic interest in Eric.

It's just not the same, not at all. So her sister ends up with a romantic relationship -- and she doesn't? And the younger sister at that? (And don't think that won't be felt, on some level.)

That would, at best, be a moderate ending for Elsa, sort of a "she survived, she got through it" ending. Well, okay.

It's not at all like the fireworks-bursting, heart-leaping joy that you feel at the end of the best Disney films, where families come together and the soulmate is found, letting you believe, even if only for a blissful while, in happily ever after and true love.

I think you're a little too attached to a character we have barely seen in action yet

She's probably the main antagonist for most of the movie anyway.

You could throw Phillip and Maleficent in there. Homegirl has the stud chained in her dungeon and was keeping him there for 100 years. She probably gets lonely up on those mountains with those trolls and her raven.

I am hoping Hans turns out to be evil. I wouldn't mind if he redeemed himself at the end though. Like he and the Duke are in cahoots, he is the youngest of twelve brothers and wants to prove himself. Then as time goes on he realizes what he is doing is wrong and defeats the Duke and accepts his fate. Or maybe he turns on the Duke and shows himself to be an even bigger evil threat!

But the Duke does sound kind of boring. Disney seems to be hit or miss with their male villains imo. They have fabulous ones (Frollo, Jafar, Facilier, Scar, Shere Khan, Ratigan. Hades) and they have some real clunkers( Ratcliffe, Alameda Slim, Rourke, Clayton, Edgar, McLeach, Sykes). Meanwhile they always seem to hit it right on the head with their evil women, at least imo. I mean at least their female villains are always entertaining and memorable. Who remembers Rourke or Sykes?

The one sign for hope is that we know he doesn't sing in the movie, and most of the main villains in Disney's modern musicals have. King Candy was even going to have a song that was cut, so it'd be weird if they denied Tudyk the opportunity to sing again.

I'm hoping for a gay twist now with the two main boys and the sisters I guess go on a " I don't need a man " path, it was popular with Merdia so why not ?

Just come on Disney. Give us some gay

I am in absolute love with Elsa's dress. I really like the ice crystal effect that frames the side of the dress! The pattern on Anna's is pretty, too!

It's nice to see on the characters costumes, especially the girls, how much more detail we can now have in a feature animation film. I think it was Glen Kene who said that for the first time a Princess could have stitching detail on her dress, thanks to CGI.

I remember seeing 'Sleeping Beauty' when I was younger, and you were only able to see that Aurora had jewels in her crown when there was an extreme close-up of her (think the shot where Maleficent reveals her sleeping body). otherwise, the detail was just blanked out.

Yes, I think the Elsa dress is adorable as well. And am I mistaken, or does it come with faux-ice crystals which the wearer can put in her braid?

I think that's an especially captivating touch in the design. It's like she has diamonds in her hair.

Oh, yes. It's embedded on a Tumblr post:

Also, there's this great screencap of Elsa using her beautiful and awe-inspiring powers near the end:

Image

I found it here:

The description of the magic is amazing:
The cosmic whirlpools of light that she forms in the air, just before unleashing her wintry blasts, resemble spiral galaxies, as if she were harnessing the power of the Milky Way itself.
Breathtaking.
