Our very own Jack Seiley wrote a great review of the set right here:
http://www.ultimatedisney.com/fantasia.html

But now it is out of print and hard to track down, so good luck!

I think they are some of the best disney movies, because they involve a lot of imagination for interpreting that songs...

And I am very pleased to see that disney will release it in a 3 dvd collection which includes the two movies and the legacy...

It IS OOP, as Luke has said, but if you can find it jump on it.

I personally think the Fantasia films are some of the best films ever made, Disney or otherwise, and this set comes from the days when Disney put out decent DVDs (instead of kiddie fluff).

Highly recommended.

As far as bonus features go, this and "Atlantis" are the most ultimate edition for Disney DVDs you can get!
Get it while (if) you can!!

It's the first box set I bought and still one I go back to frequently. The making of documentaries on both discs are top notch. The commentaries are fascinating, especially Walt's on the original Fantasia. The third disc contains so much information I don't think I've seen everything. Oh and as a bonus the Fantasia 2000 contains two of the best cartoons ever made by the studios, Melody and Toot Whistle Plunk and Boom

Sendit sell the UK set whiwh is not as great as the US one.

I just got that set and it's really great !
Not only the movies, but the set itsel "technically" : the quality of the DVDs, the bonus features and the booklets included.

Just buy it !

Yes, don't get the European version of the set. It's pants and misses hours of content from the US set.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Its one of the best dvds ever made IMO, the documentaries are great, the third disc is great, you get 3-4 never seen fantasia shorts, good stuff.
This is much better than the Ultimate Toy Box which disappointed me greatly, all text no talk :(

I don't think you can get it any other way on dvd, so might as well live with it. The censored stuff isn't much fortunately, just a couple shots of a black horse.

I don't think it's EVER been on home video in any format uncensored. Actually, as a kid, I don't remember seeing those scenes at the theater either. I would suspect it was censored decades ago.

It depends on how you look at it too. In Lucas-Logic it's been "enhanced" and "is more relevant to today's audiences", and has stronger ties to the sequel "Fantasia 2000" :P

The original segment of the "Pastoral" segment has never been released on video, though it has aired on TV. The censoring was done for a reissue in 1969, but the scenes have never been inserted back into the film anymore. :(

Fantasia Anthology is worth buying you should get it before it's gone.
Right now it's OOP (out of print) but some stores and online shopping like Amazon still have it.
I have the Anthology set and it's great!!!! :D
