Once Upon a Time in Wonderland

Post by disneyboy20022 »

Earlier in the year, ABC/Disney announced that there would be a spin off of Once Upon a Time known as Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. However it was announced that Sebastian Stan wouldn't return as The Mad Hatter in this one or in the series. At this point I don't see him popping up in season 3 anyway. However they did recast him in this new spin off. Many are bummed by that, but I think it will be good.

Today the official facebook page opened and ABC announced that the series would come this fall. Also the new trailer was released which looks amazing. It's got my attention

However in my opinion they should drop the Once Upon a Time and just call it Wonderland. Cora doesn't appear to be the queen of hearts. It seems similair to SyFy's Alice or other Alice TV Shows/Movies done a million times over already

Yeah, I've grown weary of Alice in Wonderland reimaginings. This one looks kind of cheesy. I'm not sure I'll be watching it. I'll probably watch the pilot to make up my mind.

I don't care so much for Wonderland myself, but I'll be watching just because it's supposed to have some bearing on OUaT (if only minor). And I hope Barbara Hershey will be back, most of all.

You'd think their spin-off would be Neverland, since that's where the third season looks to be for a large portion of the story. Maybe during season 4 (if the show is still successful), they'll do Neverland as a spin-off?

I was actually quite excited for this, but seeing the trailer I am not so sure. I don't want the creators to lose interest in 'Once' and start to focus on this and this alone.

That's one of my concerns.

'Once Upon a Time' to crossover with 'Wonderland' spin-off
http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/05/15/once- ... onderland/
You had to figure ABC’s Once Upon a Time and its eagerly anticipated upcoming spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland would cross their creative streams at some point.

But you’re not going to have to wait long for elements of one show to appear into the other.

Get this: The first episode of Wonderland currently starts in Storybrooke. We’re sworn to secrecy on details beyond that. But let’s just say that while the two shows will maintain clear and separate identities (it’s important to ABC and the showrunners that Wonderland can stand-alone with its own easily accessible story) this won’t be the last time the world Once Upon mingles over to Thursdays at 8 p.m.

I’m hedging a little about the exact placement of the Storybrooke scene in the Wonderland pilot because, as Once Upon fans know, a full episode has not yet been shot, so the order of the scenes could change from the presentation screened for ABC executives. In fact, we’re told producers only filmed 19 minutes of footage from the story they mapped out in December for the Wonderland premiere episode. That’s pretty rock star — landing a spot on ABC’s fall schedule without even shooting half an episode! See the Wonderland trailer cut from the presentation here.

And I doubt they'll lose interest. Most of the eggs are still in Once's basket.

Pity they recasted the mad hatter, but in any form, I always thought he was a character id like to see again.

Probably the main reason Sebsation Stan won't be returning as the Mad Hatter is because of this little film coming out next year called Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Spoilers (if you don't want to know anything):

It looks more and more certain that the Wonderland spin-off will be infused with Aladdin. Everybody guessed this already after the synopsis of Alice being in love with a genie, but it looks confirmed at this point--

From another forum, Naveen Andrews, from Lost, has been cast as Jafar, according to multiple online sites. Producer Edward Kitsis said their take on Jafar will be "Really Evil & Very Frightening," whatever that means (although it sounds good to me). Also, an article I read said the show may have a 2nd season if the ratings are good. The number of episodes should land somewhere between 13 and 22, apparently (although that’s a pretty wide hole to hit… ). When talking about a possible 2nd season, the producers apparently said the show could come back to spin “a whole new” Wonderland-based tale, in fall 2014 (if the ratings are good). “A Whole New World” if you didn’t catch it, but I’m sure you did. :P

At the discussion panel they just did the creators said it is designed to be a complete story and finish at the end of season one, with no plot holes etc.

Here's a link to a promo with the above character mentioned. I will link it in case there are some who want to be surprised.

Oooh the guy they got to play Jafar is so snake like and true to the character. I wonder what he's doing in Wonderland. Now that Jafar is i the mix, I'm very keen on watching this, as Jafar is probably my top favorite Disney Villain

Jafar is really hot.

Tbh, the Aladdin parts of the show have me way more interested than Wonderland did.

I feel the same way. Jafar is probably my favorite Disney Villain and that's what has me interested in this show even more now
