I have a SanDisk for listening to songs, but I like to try and rename some of them. But unfortunately, Windows Media Player won't let me rename the songs for SanDisk. For example, I'd like to put "The", which is at the start of most song names, at the end, so that there won't be so many songs under the "T" section. For example, one song I have is by Chubby Checker. It's called "The Hucklebuck", which I wanted to put under "H", but it won't let me change it, and SanDisk displays it under "T" for "The". But WMP won't let me change the name. I've tried every means possible, but it just seems like there isn't a way.
Can anyone help me, please?

Won't it allow you to right click then hit edit? That should allow you to rename the file.

No, it won't. For example, I have a song called "A Summer Song" by Chad and Jeremy, but the Sandisk has the name under "A" as in "A Summer Song". I want to rename it to "Summer Song, A", but it won't let me do that.Maerj wrote:Won't it allow you to right click then hit edit? That should allow you to rename the file.

Re: Windows Media Player won't let me rename songs
What ajmrowland said is exactly the reason. It is a copyright protection, and it keeps a person from retitling a song for other reasons. Yours is very simplistic, so I think you just should know that all song titles or movie titles for that matter cannot be changed.
Besides, I have over 50 SanDisk loaded with my music and I have no problem with A, An, or The being a longer list of tunes than I really want, but I just ignore it and listen to my music.
