Does anyone know if/when Mulan II will be released? I'm assuming it was pushed back for the re-release of Mulan.

yeah. is Mulan II going to be released in 2004 or early 2005. i remember The Huchback of Notre Dame 2 trailer first appearing on the Little Mermaid II movie in 2000 but the actual movie didnt came out until 2002.

Actually, The Hunchback 2 got postponed. It was officially announced for an August 2001 release, but it ended up being released on March 2002. A shame it didn't get cancelled forever.

I just learned that Raven had done a rendition of "True to Your Heart" for the Disneymania 2 CD. Do you think they'll add this to the DVD? But I don't think she made a music video for this so I'm not sure.

Man I hope not! Nothing against Raven or Raven fans but the girl is sort of geting on my Nerves does she really need to be on every Disney movie doing something?

And Regarding Mulan 2 I hope its realse is not pushed back becasue this is acautlly one of the sequals I have been expecting since I first saw the movie to me it had sequal written all over it and its plot seems new and different and that is always so refreshing . I think in October both Mulan and Aladdin should be rleased as plan. But in December Aladdin's sequal and Mulan's should be relased so that I can get them as Christmas presents !

Like I said in my DisneyMania 2 review, this cover shouldn't have been made. Why? It's just not needed... but you can read about that there. I do like Raven, though, and since the song is already in existence, why not include it? I say if it's Mulan-related, include it!

I definitely agree! Disney should push up the release date!!!
I never notcied there would be a Jackie Chan Music video. It should be quite a treat to see him singing (and probably "martial art-ing" too, lol).

I think it was nothing but a rumor, since nothing has shown up. Well, it could have been true and Disney gave it up on the last hour.

It's great that Mulan 2 will be coming to DVD in Feburary 2005 and I hope that Mulan 3 will be coming fall of 2005 at least.

i'm sorta scared at the thought of Jackie Chan singing. are you sure they dont mean someone like William Hung. Jackie Chan is cool when he kicks butt, but he's not cool when you see him singing.

Well, just for your information, Jackie Chan sang the Beauty and the Beast end title theme song for the Cantonese and Mandarin versions of the film with another Taiwanese female singer. Actually, he's not too bad at singing, but not good too.

Wow, with this and Aladdin it seems Disney DVD has gone back up in quality from the good-but-not-great releases in between The Lion King and Brother Bear. I hope Disney keeps this same in-depth consistancy with their future SE's (and based on what we've seen of the Pocahontas and Lilo specs, it seems that they will). Bring on October!

I could not agree more with you the quality has become amazing and I hope it does saty because Lilo and Stitch and Pochontas are 2 of my favorites well mostly Lilo and Stitch hehehehehe.

Yup. Jackie Chan's been singin' songs and putting out albums in Hong Kong for years. Many of his movies have theme songs sung by him. He's not bad. His Mulan songs are all in Mandarin/Cantonese so there's no Chinese accents to worry about. He only sings one song in Mulan. But it's actually nice to hear "Reflection", "Honor to us all" etc.. in Chinese. The people who sing it really capture the song's spirit and tempo well. I own the region 3 version so I've already heard it. I wish the R1 special edition would include Cantonese tho. The R3 version is due in January.

This DVD edition of "Mulan" strikes some similarity with the collector's edition of "Tarzan" - lot's of short featurettes that, even though not totally in-depth, are great nonetheless. I wonder if this "Mulan" special edition has been planned some time ago but got cancelled along the way. Maybe when Disney decided to stop producing laserdiscs or when they decided that their first DVDs would be barebones edition.

All in all, this seems to be a great edition and I can't wait for it. By the way, I do not think that "The Lion King" DVD is pure fluff at all! Of course, it is not in-depth like "Fantasia 2000" or "Atlantis", but it has lots of good stuff and you learn a lot about the making of the film. What really botches it are the crappy menus and navigational systems. I think that Disney decided to adopt this new "EasyFind" menus when they heard all the protests on The Lion King DVD, hehehe!

I have the Mulan Cantonese soundtrack and it's really good.

I own the region 3 version so I've already heard it. I wish the R1 special edition would include Cantonese tho. The R3 version is due in January.

The R3 special edition, according to HK's Disney distributor, is due July in Hong Kong and August in Taiwan, earlier than the US.
