This news might be 14 days old but it's interesting. Apparently The Stooge remake is designed to be the Roger Rabbit prequel.:

So, the director of the first movie is working on it? So, hopefully, the director will convince Disney to do it? :|

This is getting weirder and weirder. First, Charley Fleischer (the voice of Roger Rabbit) says the project is not only a rumor but a complete fabrication and now Gary K. Wolf (the author) says that it was Charley Fleischer who introduced him to the project.
Charley Fleischer wrote:I would say the key word of the phrase is 'rumor'. Yes. It is unsubstantiated. I would say that any sequel that will occur will more than likely involve Mr. Robert Zemeckis. This is a rumor. That is it. I would wager that it is more than a rumor. I would say it's closer to a fabrication.
Gary K. Wolf wrote:I got involved with it at a relatively short time ago because I am Facebook friends with Charley Fleischer who was the voice of Roger Rabbit. He had posted this poster on Facebook for something called The Stooge and I didn't know what it was! I put a little comment on it telling him that it looked pretty cool! I then received a note from Erik Von Wodtke who is the development producer. The more he started telling me about it, the more enthusiastic I became.

I think this says it all:
Wolf clarifies, "the next step will be getting it to somebody at the studio to take a look at it so they can give us a yes or a no. They need to be interested in putting some development money into it and see how it works out."

Wolf speaks, "realistically there is only one place that can make this movie. There is only place where Mickey Mouse and Roger Rabbit exist and that is Disney. If Disney isn't interested, then that is it! You can't go to Warner Brothers."
In other words, it's not happening.

Like, I really don't understand - are they completely delusional? Do they really honestly believe that Disney will even give them the time of day?

Such pessimism has got to stop! I'm feeling rather uncomfortable at this forum because of too many members having attitude problems like that. As a moderator, you, of all people, Sotiris, should know better...

As I've told you before, pessimism, negativity, criticism etc are not against forum rules which I urge you to read. Everyone here is free to express themselves given they're not violating any rules. They do not have to cater to your views or opinions. If you cannot accept that, perhaps this message board is not for you.

 Well said, Sotiris.

To further add to this, and perhaps remind all members:

The DVDizzy/UltimateDisney has always hosted a diversity of opinions, regardless of how optimistic or pessimistic they may be, but provided that they encourage a civil discussion among like-minded or opposing views. If threads do become too entangled or too heated that civil discussion can no longer be achieved, the moderators make the judgement call as to whether or not such a discussion should be allowed to continue. Veteran members could easily list threads that have been locked to allow cooler heads to prevail, before the discussion was re-opened once more. Such is the nature of this forum.

HOWEVER, while any poster is free to share an opinion, such opinions are shared with the understanding that other posters are given this same privilege. To ask for a suppression of any opinion because it may be "too pessimistic" would be tantamount to censorship. This is certainly NOT the intention of this open forum, nor of the moderators. Implying that extreme pessimism should be purged and that we all engage in a "happy happy joy joy" type of discussion only inhibits and limits any poster's voice on the forum. Again, this is not the forum's intention. The most we ask of our posters regarding content is that posts respect other opinions, avoid personal attacks, and use best judgment in posting (i.e. avoiding the "explicit content, prurient images, or other material inappropriate for the forum" as outlined in the forum rules).

In addition, moderators have our opinions as well. While we do have the added responsibility of monitoring the forums, we are not robots. We have our own likes and dislikes within the company, our own criticisms of how decisions are made. Perhaps our decision to share these opinions does require some re-thinking before we hit the "submit" button. But for the most part, we have that same rights as any forum member does, which includes the ability to post an opinion.

To bring this longer-than-expected post to a close, let's remember that at the end of the day, we are all still Disney fans. We can bond over that simple fact, regardless how different our opinions may be on other subjects.

New radio interview with Gary K. Wolf on Roger Rabbit and mentioning of The Stooge:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/nthequeue/ ... ary-k-wolf

Play around 68:03 and you'll hear.

Also another interesting tidbit:

http://www.imnotbad.com/2013/02/exclusi ... movie.html

"Wolf shared some more details, exclusive only to ImNotBad.com, on the role Jessica Rabbit will play in the film, "It will show how Roger meets Jessica. In the movie Jessica and Minnie will have a singing, dancing sister act and we get to see Jessica Rabbit find her "look."""
