"The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
"The Voice" is back with its Fourth Season and two new coaches. Usher and Shakira join Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as the new coaches/mentors on the NBC program.
Last night's two-hour opener was filled with some really good singers, and the teams are already taking shape. Well, Blake's, Shakira's and Usher's are, Adam only got one last night. Each coach get to pick 12 for their team and then the Battle Rounds will begin.
First up last night was The Morgan Twins, two identical twin sisters who chose Blake as their coach. Lots of other good singers were on board for this show. The last contestant of the evening was Judith Hill, who at one time rehearsed with Michael Jackson for the This Is It tour, and after Michael Jackson passed, she sang at his memorial service. I don't think she needs help from "The Voice", but I am not one of the judges, so I will just watch the show as it progresses and see how many other talented people there are this season.
I like "The Voice" because we don't have to sit through all the crappy, non-talented singers who embarrass themselves, like "Idol" and "X Factor". I am sure they do that to extend the 'try-outs' for their shows. "The Voice" has already weeded out the non-talent before these shows air, so we get to see the cream of the crop.
Last night's show highlight, for me, was the four coaches opening the show singing "Come Together".
Shakira and Usher proved to everyone last night that they have what it takes to keep Adam and Blake from stealing the show again. And I, for one, am so glad that we don't have to turn up the volume on the television to hear CeeLo give his comments, or put up with Christina using the desk to hold up her boobs. I will be watching each week as the teams take shape and then I will pick the coach I think has the best shot at winning it all.
Carson Daly is back as the host for this Season Four talent competition.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
The first two nights of Season Four of "The Voice" are now just a lot of good memories. Both Usher and Shakira flexed their stuff and picked up 3 members for their teams and Adam has two and Blake has three also.
First reviews are in and they say that anyone who watches "American Idol" is missing a real talent show in "The Voice". The new judges have fit right in like they have been there for a lot longer than just a couple of weeks.
Like many others, I was aprehensive of the hiring of Shakira, but she has proved to be another bright spot on the show, and has made a lot of people forget about Christina Aguilera already. Last night's show was hilarious when she brought out her "English to Country Music" Dictionary to squash what Blake Shelton was telling the contestant. It was a great reaction and the singer went with Shakira because she made her laugh.
Hope those of you who think "Idol" is the ba-all of talent shows, should give "The Voice" a long look and see what real talent is.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
What great chemistry on this show!! It is amazing to watch because of Shakira and Usher. They fit right in like they have been there since the beginning.
Last night (Monday, April 1) was an amazing show, Shakira has seven members already on her team. Blake is close behind, and then Usher and Adam.
For the first time in three seasons, I am not skipping anything when I watch the show which I DVR at 7 pm on Monday nights and then watch it from the beginning after "Bones" is over. That way I can skip the commercials, but this year I am not fast forwarding through anything but the commercials because there is so much going on with the judges and the talent on the stage. The back stories are so much better this year, and I totally agree, so far, with each contestants choice of coach. Blake is getting the country people, Adam is getting the 'alternative' people, except last night he "stole" a country singer from Blake. A lot of the contestants are choosing Shakira because she offers them so much in the variety of music she chooses that they feel safe with her. Usher is just plain cool.
I don't know why people would watch a lame show that has worn out its welcome, Dancing With The Stars, when they could have a refreshing new show with a truckload of talent. These people are the cream of the crop, and the coaches hear them blindly.
I know that the ratings are a little low, but I think that NBC realizes that it is up against DWTS, and is giving it a chance. I am sure that the popularity with those of us who are watching will register when the "live" shows begin in a few weeks.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
To all those who think 'American Idol' is the be-all of the reality talent shows, I thought I would bring you up to date on "The Voice".
All four coaches now have their 12 team members and next Monday and Tuesday, April 15 and 16, will begin the Battle Rounds. Bonus for this season, as with last season, each Coach will be allowed to steal an artist who is eliminated in the Battle Rounds, but only one steal for the whole Battle Rounds segment.
Team Shakira seems to have a stronghold on the Latin singers, which will fit nicely with her, although she did pickup a very good r&b singer this past week.
Team Usher is loaded with a variety of some of the best, in my eyes, talent that took the 'Voice' stage.
Team Adam is loaded to make a run at the title this year, and Team Blake has a whole lot of country singers this time around, so in the early going I think he is the front-running favorite.
This should be a very good season for the show, as the Battle Rounds last for two weeks, and then the Live Shows begin and America has a chance to vote for their favorites.
The new judges have fit right in and the show has a new vibrancy that it has been lacking in past seasons. Look for NBC to make an effort to get Usher and Shakira to stay around for a while.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
Those of you who watch American Idol or Dancing With The Stars are missing the best season, so far, of "The Voice" on NBC.
Tonight (Tuesday, April 16) will be the second night of the Battle Rounds as the coaches pare their teams down to eight members. Each judge is allowed two steals, those are the singers that were eliminated by their coach, and picked up by another coach.
Team Shakira looks like she is in it to win on her first season as a Coach. She used both of her steals last night, and now she can just sit back and watch the other coaches have at it.
Some of the strongest singers are in the show this season. Team Usher is up tonight, along with Team Adam and Team Shakira. Last night Team Blake and Team Adam lost two members.
Battle Rounds will go on for the next two weeks on Monday and Tuesday nights, and then the "Live Shows" will begin. Carson Daly is the host for this fourth, and best season of judges, and maintains a low profile throughout the show.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
One more week of Battle Rounds and then the "Live" shows will start. Some of the best singers in America are on this Season Four of "The Voice".
There was a lot of in-fighting over some of the losers in Monday and Tuesdays Battle Rounds and Shakira got her two steals right off on Monday night. Usher has one left as does Adam and Blake.
Gotta wonder why everyone thinks "Idol" is so good. Apparently you haven't paid any attention to what is going on with "The Voice".
Usher and Shakira are showing all of us why they belong on the show as coaches, and according to rumblings at NBC, they are making an announcement in two weeks that will probably seal the deal with Shakira and Usher coming back next season and maybe longer. Everyone is dissing Christina and CeeLo and don't really want them back.
A lot of my friends who watch "Dancing With The Stars" on Monday and Tuesday have accepted my challenge to DVR The Voice, which is on at the same time, and see what they have been missing. At least three that I know of, now DVR DWTS and watch "The Voice" live on Monday and Tuesday.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
"The Voice" begins it "Live" shows this coming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Each of the teams is now down to four and it will be up to the viewers to vote for their favorites each week.
The 'Knockout' rounds were as brutal on the contestants and it was on the coaches. Right now I am torn between Blake Shelton's "country girls" team and Team Shakira's strong independent singers. Adam Levine has a very good team, as does Usher.
Last night's "The Voice - Road to the Live Shows" was a very interesting program and showed a lot of behind the scenes stuff that was very interesting. Also it was announced that Shakira and Usher will be back for Season Five. That's the best news of all.
It all begins next Monday night at 8 pm Eastern/7 Central.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
It's all or nothing beginning tonight on "The Voice - The Playoffs" as each coach puts their team on the 'Voice' stage live and we get to vote!!! There will be eight performances tonight, and another eight on Tuesday night, and then Wednesday will be the first results show of Season Four with special guests Rod Stewart and CeeLo Green.
This, in my opinion, has been the best season so far. I don't even miss watching "Idol" because this show has been so much fun, and some very good singers who get to pick their own songs for their performances in the 'Live' rounds.
If you aren't watching, you are missing the best 'singing' show on television. And if you watch another show on at the same time (Dancing With The Stars) you should be DVRing either show to watch. That's what I have always done, and will do later this year when the newly re-vamped "The 'X' Factor" returns.
I really think that "The Voice" is the better show because they have already weeded out the no-talent and the wannabe's before we get to the Blind Auditions. So we are seeing some great singers right from the first show.
NBC has announced that Shakira and Usher will return with Season Five of "The Voice" in the fall. Can't wait. This season has been so much fun, and the show is totally better than any of the previous three seasons with CeeLo Green and Christina "Miss Boobs-s-Lot" Aguilera. The interaction of the coaches has been so good, and so spontaneous. If you aren't watching "The Voice", then you are missing 'real' talent.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
First night of "The Voice - The Playoffs" went very smoothly. Team Adam and Team Usher spotlighted their teams and after last night's voting, and voting after tonight's show, which will feature Team Shakira and Team Blake, we will know which four singers will be going home.
The Wednesday Results show will be highlighted by performances by CeeLo Green and Rod Stewart along with the heart-breaking results for four singers.
If you aren't watching "The Voice" you aren't watching the best singers in the USA compete for that contract and the trophy that says they are "The Voice".
It all starts tonight at 8 pm Eastern/7 pm Central and it is all live, and there are four ways to vote for your favorites.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
Team Blake Shelton showed why he is the strong contender for this year's "The Voice". With people like Danielle Bradbery and The Swon Brothers, Blake has a powerful group of country singers.
Team Shakira showed why they need to be considered in this all out effort to be "The Voice" in 2013's Season Four.
Tonight's Results show will feature former coach CeeLo Green and mod-rocker Rod Stewart as the entertainment guests, while each team will lose one member tonight. Gonna be real hard to see anyone go, as they are all terrific singers and artists in their own right.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
We are down to our Top 12 on "The Voice". Last night's results show was amazing and heartbreaking at the same time.
Rod Stewart is ageless and his performance stopped the show. He was in good voice and his choice of songs was epic. CeeLo Green and one of last season's finalists, Juliet Sims, were also very good. I do hope that they don't bring him back as a judge, because Usher is filling his shoes perfectly.
The Swon Brothers are the first duo to make it through the first round of 'live' shows. Team Coach, Blake Shelton, chose the duo over Justin Rivers, which had to be a very hard choice for him to make. Both of these team members were stellar in their performances, but it is the American voters who are not supporting the favorites and making it hard on the coaches.
Next week we will have the Top 12 performing for your votes on Monday night, and the Results show will be on Tuesday.
After this great season, so far, I can honestly say that I don't miss American Idol one bit. And I hope that those who are watching Idol are also watching this show. The new coaches have fit the panel like a glove and have proven their worth already. Let's hop NBC doesn't screw around with these coaches and keeps them around for a long time.

Apparently Christina Aguilera will be back for the next season to the tune of a $17 million paycheck. It's rumored Shakira will be leaving (I'm sure she'd be back if she wanted to be). I'd like to see Christina and Usher interact, or Christina and Shakira for that matter.

I think CeeLo is also returning, so Usher and Shakira really are going to be temp judges. They have done an excellent job though, and I really wouldn't mind seeing them stick around.

If you were a regular watcher of this show. Every week from the beginning makes you regular, then you would know that the Aguilera thing is for 2014 and it is not $17 million it is $1.7 million, according to folks at NBC.
CeeLo is supposed to come back some time, but not in the Fall for Season 5. We will have Usher and Shakira for one more round.
Hopefully enough people will petition NBC to keep their fingers out of the soup and keep Usher and Shakira as long as they can. They are so much better than Green and Aguilera. There is a chemistry between the four coaches that can't be matched. I just hope that NBC stops in their tracks when it comes to changing a 'winning' format with Adam Levin, Shakira, Usher and Blake Shelton.
Tonight's results show will be great. Lady Antebellum will be on of the guest musicians plus we will have Blake and his group doing a song, and Adam and his group doing a song.
We lose two lowest vote-getters tonight.

1.) Articles are reporting either 12.5 million or 17 million for Christina. Either way, your at least 10 million off the mark.
2.) She’s coming back for season 5 along with Cee Lo, which is in Fall 2013. Not confirmed if Usher or Shakira will be leaving or not. There have been some rumors there will be 5 or 6 judges next season.
3.) She was a part of the first 2 seasons of the show, when the show and its judging panel was already proved a success. Usher and Shakira came on when the show was already a hit, so less risk taken by them.
I have only watched the show for a few minutes here and there since the first season ended, just because there’s no point getting invested in contestants the show is not going to help. I really only tune in to see the judges, if at all, and Usher, Christina, and Cee Lo have been my personal favorites to have been on the show. From what I've seen of the contestants, Danielle is the only one I care for, although I wish they'd stop giving her Carrie Underwood songs to sing. Really enjoyed her "Maybe It Was Memphis."

$1.7 million seems low... Its probably closer to the $17 million mark.
As far as CeeLo, its been talked/rumored for ages that he will be back for Season 5. I wonder how the show would work with 5 or 6 judges? That seems like too much. I do agree that the chemistry between the judges is good this season, but past seasons have also had there moments.

Re: "The Voice" Season Four discussion..........
With the Top Ten finalists performing tonight it will give all the artsts a chance to pick a song from their favorite lists and will be coached by their respective coaches along with a guest mentor in each of the coaches corner. Should be interesting.
NBC has also announced that CeeLo and Christina are only coming back for Season Five which starts in September. It is a one-off for them as Shakira and Usher have been signed to return next year with Season Six and Seven.
So we can enjoy what is left of this season, and watch the next season knowing that we won't have to put up with 'fat boy' Green and Miss Boobs-a-Lot Aguilera after the fall season. And the network has also said that the quote for how much the coaches get paid has been very much exaggerated, and is never made public by the network.
Two more singers will be sent home after tonight's show which will feature Maroon 5 doing their new single of their latest album.
As far as popularity goes, I think it is time for Judith Hill to get cut and maybe Holly or Josiah should go with her. Everyone's favorite Vedo, got whacked last week. So it is really up in the air, but the one to beat, in most everyone's eyes, is Danielle Bradbery.

This week on "The Voice" the Final Eight take the stage for our votes. Last weeks results saw Josiah and Kris Thomas eliminated from the competition. Now we only have two guys in competition and they are the first duo to make it to the live rounds, The Swon Brothers.
Next Monday night the Final Eight will begin their trek to the Final Two and a hope to win the prize of a Universal Recording Contract, along with $100,000.

The Top Eight take the stage this Monday night, on NBC, on The Voice. Three ladies have surged to the forefront as contenders for this Season's Finale, Michelle, Sara, and Danielle look like the ones to beat this year.
Tuesday night will be the recap show and the results show. Here is hoping that Judith Hill is one of the two singers destined to be cut from the show this week. It all depends on us, the viewers, and how we vote. There are five methods of voting, and I use four of them to cast my vote.
Wednesday night will be a very special night on NBC, as Blake Shelton headlines a concert to raise money for the tornado victims in Moore, Oklahoma. Tickets sold out in just over 30 seconds. We will get to see live, one of the three hours of this concert beginning at 9 pm Eastern/8 pm Central, and on tape for you folks that live on the left coast.

The Top Eight performed last night for our votes. We have until 10 a.m. Eastern time to cast our votes for our favorites in five different ways. If you have a Facebook account, you can vote up to 10 times for each person you want to see stay around for another week.
Weakest performers on the show last night were Sara Simmons and Judith Hill. Amanda Carrington picked the Adele song "Skyfall", and remarkably did a great job with it. She didn't copy Adele in any way, shape or form.
"Grandpa (tell me about the good old days)", originally recorded by The Judds, was performed flawlessly by Danielle Bradbury, while The Swon Brothers gave the Eagles song "Seven Bridges Road" their special treatment.
Tonight we get to see a recap show at 8 pm Eastern, and then the hammer falls on two of the artists bringing us down to the Top Six. Among the guests on the Results show will be Sheryl Crow. Should be a good show tonight.
Wednesay is the "Healing in the Heartland" telethon beginning at 9 pm Eastern and will be broadcast on all of the sister NBC stations and affiliates. We only get one hour of the three-hour concert, but artists performing will include Reba McIntire, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert, and Blake Shelton.
