SPOILERish
I'm talking about the scene where we see Theodora's shadow as she transforms into the Wicked Witch after eating a poisoned apple
It's a classic Disney villain transformation.

That's more of a spoiler than what I said.Toky wrote:haha... Well it wasn't a spoiler who would become the witch so this could easily come on top of that...Besides Disney released a behind the scene video were you see Evanora giving Theodora the apple ...and the soundtrack gives it awayCan't wait to see that particular scene though

So it's going to be an interesting premiere night. The theater my family going to is having Thurs. 8:00pm-10pm showings. I assume because it's a PG movie and they're trying to prevent kids from being out after 12? At least at this one theater. Still most schools are off Friday to kick off Spring Break early. Expecting big weekend numbers.
Does anyone know of any Oz movie ticket coupons or discounts floating around the internet? It's always nice to save a few bucks.
EDIT: There's a now a Temple Run: Oz game @ the App Store
I like the Brave Temple Run alot. The graphics look great in this latest version. Reviews say it's glitchy. There should be a free weekend tryout.

I saw that. Mila reciting generic answers to generic 'Oz questions' was hysterical. I was in stitches.DylanCharles90 wrote:HILARIOUS interview w Mila Kunis, minor plot spoilers

She may be a bit miscast, but by God is she charming, hot and hilarious.

Something ironic happened at our screening of Oz. The curtain wouldn't open all the way. No joke. The manager apologized and we were given the choice to either move to an adjacent theater, or stay with the curtain as is. We'd be compensated by receiving free movie passes for another show. So we stayed put and the curtain ended up opening sometime during the film. (Sadly there was no man hiding behind it.)
Quick review thoughts (might be a tad spoilery):
--3D was outstanding. Beware:Many creatures pop out at you!
--I'm tiffed because the world's so intricate and we only get a few seconds to view the details the throw at you. Sensory overload!!
--I was unprepared for how frightening it was. In the audience at least one kid cried. I heard a few times a child's voice say "It's scary." I'm not against the scary bits. To me it was a good surprise.
--Finley and China Girl were so sweet. Highlights of the film for me, though China Girl should've had a proper name. Alice in Wonderland's names were so intricate. These seem too simple in comparison.
--Didn't care for Theodora and Evanora's acting. (And I don't like their names or how similar they sound.) Oz was passable, but felt shallow. I give Glinda a thumbs up.
--Don't expect a few reference to the Garland feature. There's too many to digest at the present. One implanted in my mind has to do with the Gale family.
--Disliked the apple scene and Evanora's defeat scene. The music box con got old fast.
--I altogether liked the film. Didn't care for Oz himself; his friends are the likeable ones and they're responsible for keeping my interest.

Especially because it's bombing in Asia and Austria. First figures have it WAY below Jack The Giant Slayer over there.Sotiris wrote:Disney is already planning a sequel.

Obviously it will play well in the UK, Australia and countries where Wicked was a hit, but this is no Alice in Wonderland overseas.

I don't think it's only just that. I felt that he really understood what Walt Disney tried to convey through his movies, to never stop believing that there's always hope.PatrickvD wrote:Neither.SwordInTheStone777 wrote: Are you taking about where the Wicked Witch of the West is in Munchkinland in a big swirlling fire ball or where she's in the Emerald City, I think and she scrapes her hand across the floor or table?

I think overall, this movie really succeed in makin oz into a disney movie. I really liked it. It really needs a sequel though. I feel so bad for theodora. there's one thing I hated about the movie though. THE ENDING SONG.

I'm going to see this on Sunday with my cousins. I've heard a lot of positive things so far - I really liked Luke's review. Right now, it is doing better than Alice did on Rotten Tomatoes - and Alice made Disney a ton of money. I will post my review on Sunday evening.
(Very excited, if you can't tell!)

I know I’m way late on this, but I finally listened to Mariah’s “Almost Home,” and I like it moderately well. Her voice isn’t exactly what it used to be, of course, but that’s to be expected now that she’s older. I like the song best in the final chorus, when she's singing the high notes.
As for the movie getting rated C+ or doing badly in other countries, I’m not surprised at all after Alice in Wonderland, which looked beautiful but was pretty horrid overall. I agree with a reviewer I read who said he didn’t expect it to be anything other than “candy-colored dog ****.”
I still plan to see it some point, but I’m not excited about it. I wonder if this film is reminding the public of Alice, too, and if that might affect its performance.

Listening to most often lately:

Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

So Disney might have the balls to actually do a remake of Wonderful Wizard of Oz? Because the movie kinda wrote itself into a corner as far as doing another story focused around the Wizard goes.Sotiris wrote:Disney is already planning a sequel.
