Hunchback is being released on the same day as well.

This can't be the final cover art!

Jafar is just cutted off!

Is Aladdin coming out in the US this year? I was at an independent movie store pre-ordering the Disney Blu-rays for March and they asked if I wanted to pre-order it. :?

I passed until I could find out for sure. Blu-ray.com is stating Spring 2013 but nothing official it seems yet.

I think Blu-ray.com is referring to the European release. If you don't want to wait for a US release, you can always import the UK edition. It'll be region free so you won't have problems playing it on your end.

EDIT: Sotiris, do you think you can edit your first post slightly, and place Who Framed Roger Rabbit in its own category? It's currently listed erroneously as a Walt Disney Animation Studios production, while the animation was actually done at Richard Williams' London studio.

The other cover looks to me like really bad fan-site banner art

I still really like the Australia/Europoean DVD art (not the Friendship Edition). Just pooh and watercoliur flowers, cute and classical.

No release date info for the US yet. I have a feeling it will be a 2014 release.

Best Buy will have Mulan, Hunchback, and Brother Bear for $24.99 each, and you can save $6 if you buy 2 or more. They will also have Roger Rabbit for $16.99.

Target listed Mulan for $22.99, but all of the other titles were not listed.

So again in Europe, not a Diamond release ?
I guess if the title is removed from The Little Mermaid release, we will know for sure if Europe has gotten rid of the Diamon Collection alltogether.

Not necessarily, tbh I don't think Aladdin is a Diamond Edition in N. America either anymore. I highly doubt Disney will wait until fall 2014. Even if they were trying to tie it in with the musical, it would come out in Spring, which TJB already holds that spot. I do however, think 101 Dalmatians will be the fall 2014 diamond because its been a long time since it was released in the US and we still don't have it. I wouldn't worry about losing the collection quite yet.

Well gosh, doesn't it make so much more sense to release it along with the Broadway debut? Could have so mango cross-promotion opportunities, no?

In a smaller extent, Ariel's Beginng was released to tie into the Broadway production, with a neat little feature to match.

The word Sense and Disney don't exist together

For Instance

The Little Mermaid 3D theatrical release canceled but yet the 3D blu ray will still be coming

Tron Uprising has been a great show and they cancel it on the mother of all cliff hangers

Disney drops their best Avengers animated series when the show could have gone longer but still keeps the crappy quality Ultimate Spider-Man show.

Disney will not release anything yet of Frozen except for one lone concept art, even in their exclusive D23 Magazine.

Disney lets Heavyweights Blu ray have a bunch of Bonus Features but Hocus Pocus and other films get zilch

This seems to be a clip from a restored print of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad:

I wonder if we will see a Blu-ray release of this near Halloween...

Indeed. I wasn't expecting the package features to get any kind of restoration at this point. Glad to see they've at least cleaned up this one.

A clip from The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea was uploaded on YouTube by Disney in 1080p.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/oUcblpJ5nUI" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Even in 1080p, it still looks like crap. :P

You should have posted the high definition clip for 'The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad'. That restoration looks amazing! I've never seen the film, but I know I will once it comes out on Blu-Ray. It looks adorable!

OK, I haven't seen TLM II, but I watched that clip.

a. Every time you pause the clip it becomes so obvious how weak the drawings are. If you can't even draw the characters properly, how are you supposed to animate them decently (an even harder task)?

b. The primitive digital ink and paint work just increased my appreciation of WDAS' CAPS (and the people who used it) tenfold.

c. This may come as surprising to some of you, but I think the animation in Return of Jafar is better than the animation I saw in the clip of TLM II. In Return of Jafar it is undoubtedly less polished and rougher looking, but it also has more life and more fluidity, and better use of squash and stretch. What do you guys think?

d. Sotiris, can you tell me which studio animated TLM II? I hope it's not the Australia studio. Those guys improved by leaps and bounds throughout the 90s and 2000s.

EDIT: OK, is it just me, or does Triton look completely imbecilic in this pic?

I didn't because zackisthewalrus already posted it on this very page. Didn't you notice?
