Forrest Gump
Who has seen this movie? I thought it was a cool movie the way that they could put Tom Hanks into old footage of the Presidents. I am reading the book by Winston Grooms right now and all I can say is that it is very different from the movie. What do you think about the movie or the book?

I really like the President scenes too.
The Nixon scene was particularly well done.
One of my favorite movies, I have the 2 disc DVD but havent gotten to watching it yet.

I saw this movie in theaters.
It is a very good movie and I enjoyed the President scenes as well.
I bought the DVD and watched it. It was very good.
I listened to the audio book sequel to Forest Gump. It was terrible and I hope they never even think about turning it into a movie.
Why are we all typing like this?

Remus - there are others, most notably the originator of the format - MickeyMousePal. I will stop now. I have found myself doing lots of odd things since I became entranced by ChickyMouse's avatar.

Jimmy Jack is right about that, we imitate the originator...it just sort of seemed like everyone else was typing that way here as well. Perhaps MMP's ways are spreading?Uncle Remus wrote:the only people i have seen so far typing like that is you and JimmyJackJunior.Maerj wrote:I saw this movie in theaters.

But why imitate the originator? Try coming up with an special way of typing your posts. That way people can read your message without having to see who wrote the post.Maerj wrote: Jimmy Jack is right about that, we imitate the originator...it just sort of seemed like everyone else was typing that way here as well. Remus, it's kind of a running inside joke here. And I think it's always best to look and see who is actually typing the post, either by username or avatar. No need to nit-pick. From my signature, I present to you the wise words of Disney Guru:

oh, and silly me thought we were trying to sound like Forrest or something.
I wanna play too though....
I liked forrest very much. 'specially when the war scenes start.
They are very loud on my speaker(s).
it has a great soundtrack.
the spliced scenes look very dated, technologically speaking. ( i still like em though)
I think they could do those scenes better now.
but im just nit picking......

Jules: You know the shows on TV?
Vincent: I don't watch TV.
Jules: Yeah, but, you are aware that there's an invention called television, and on this invention they show shows, right?

For some reason Forrest Gump has one of the most powerful and profound effects over any movie on me... Its strange but I just find it so difficult to watch. I bought the 2-disc Special Edition last year and after watching it, I felt the most deep uncomfortable feeling of nausea in my stomach and lay awake in bed all night interpreting the direction of my life and what I'm trying to achieve. I remember why itd been so long since Id seen it! I know it's supposed to be a light hearted sentimental film but it just hits me in a way that I cant really explain. As much as I love the movie, itd be easier for me to sit through 10 simultaneous screenings of Schindlers List. Its pretty damn strange.
