He's from the tv show phineas and ferb. And it's not a duck. It's suppose to be a platypus.
Thanks! I've never seen Phineas and Ferb.

I'm not a die hard fan of the show. I haven't watched a lot of it but I've been meaning to watch more of it on Netflix. I did see the TV movie for the show and I thought it was pretty good and currently it's the best animated TV show Disney has right now

The best? Nah, Gravity Falls smears P&F into the ground tenfold.

I've heard of that show but have never watched it.

Phineas and Ferb in my opinion is the closest think to The Disney Afternoon type animated who was which to me makes it okay in my book

Indeed. From what Ive seen F&F is awful. The Dorito head in particular infuriates me just from a design perspective.

Gravity Falls is the first show they've had in a while that I not only tolerate but look forward to seeing every time a new ep comes on. Put these characters in infinity.

:? Phineas' design is genius. He's immediately identifiable in silhouette from any angle. Just because it strays from realism doesn't mean it's bad.

EXACTLY! At least Phineas got three ways to fuck a girl rather than one. Now That's what I call INNOVATION! Image

Im all for strong silhouettes, we need more of em in animation these days. But one of the easiest ways to loose appeal if you ask me is to use too many harsh angles and straight lines, and a flat triangle that cant even convincingly rotate around just ain't my idea of a good design. Its not really about realism, the characters in Hey Arnold for example have all sorts of crazy shapes, but at least they look organic enough to exist in dimensional space. The show looks unintentionally flat. Flat on propose can work (like a lot of UPA shorts) but here it just feels like its a time saver.

Delayed "Infinity" until August says Disney
http://www.jedimouseketeer.com/2013/03/ ... -says.html
Walt Disney Co has pushed back the launch date of its new video game and toy initiative known as "Infinity" to August from June, saying it was seeking to capitalize on a more favorable retail season.

The new launch date will be August 18, John Pleasants, co-president of Disney Interactive, said in a statement.

But the new date will also mean that the division will only be able to profit from the new offering in the fourth quarter instead of the third. The division made a loss in the last year although it returned to a small profit in the latest quarter.

Pleasants told the New York Times that the shift in the launch date would definitely impact the division's goal of achieving profitability for the year but would also allow it to add more bells and whistles.

A starter pack with software, the board and three plastic figurines is priced at $75.

It hasn't been confirmed, but there's evidence for Anna and Elsa later this year. As for earlier princess, nothing yet - but I'm sure they're coming.

If there's one thing Disney Loves to promote, it's its Princesses so yeah it will come. Probably Merida also. I'm thinking maybe Ariel later this fall since the Blu Ray is coming though I'm not going to try to predict the unpredictable Disney Marketing of the 21st Century's Logic since not a lot exists

I find the fact that they used Walt's videos more insulting than nostalgic.

Why the heck is Linda Woolverton in that video? Is she now part of the braintrust or something? When will the executives wake up and realize that she was in no way, shape or form responsible for the success of ANY of the movies she was writing for. And not only that, the last good movie she was associated with was released 19 years ago.

Maleficent is no doubt going to make hundreds of millions and sucks horribly. She and her scripts need to go away.

Okay rant over. Sorry guys.

And yes, the use of Walt in that clip was kind of... off putting. And the 'cut to Lasseter' as if he's the new Walt is kind of annoying, but whatever, they're going to keep doing that so I'll learn to live with it.
