"Wreck-It Ralph" director Rich Moore told the crowd at the motion picture academy's Beverly Hills headquarters that he never envisioned the video game adventure from Disney as a musical, but "Book of Mormon" co-writer Robert Lopez and his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez did create an original song for the film.
"It didn't work, so it's not in the movie," said Moore. "That's our process. We try lots of stuff. We throw it against the wall, and the stuff that sticks stays in the movie. It's a very organic process making films like this."

Yes, they sure have. I hope Frozen delivers some seriously catchy tunes. The Disney universe is starving for some good ones...qindarka wrote:The Lopez's have been working with WDAS quite a bit, haven't they. That would make three films in a row they's been involved in even their work didn't appear in the final version of WIR.

Yeah, me too. I'm really interested about which character is singing it, when it took place etc. I hope at least that more details will come or have the song get leaked.PatrickvD wrote: I hope it's on the Blu-ray...
I know this is random, but I can really picture this as a Broadway musical. And if this does, the Lopez should write the songs and the deleted song should be in it.

According the video Estefan posted at the Oscars thread, it was designed as a Mary Poppins-type/Sherman-type song about Sugar Rush, and why they race and racing solves all of the problems etc. That sounds terrific and they defientely should have kept i in.ProfessorRatigan wrote:I'd really be interested in hearing what Lopez did with that type of song. King Candy was my favorite thing about the film. I take it this song won't be included on the blu-ray?

But anyhow, let's just say you DO need an account to get this offer.

Anyway, I watched Wreck-It Ralph today after renting it from my local video store (it somehow came out before the street date). I thought the story animation and sight gags were all decent. I liked all the video game cameos/references they scattered throughout the film (some of which you had to squint to see). There were some things to nitpick at though such as Vanellope's voice acting, which got kind of annoying after a while. It may not be as good as everyone made it out to be, but it was still pretty enjoyable. 7/10
