Haha that's alright, I'm just given you a hard time.Sky Syndrome wrote:I can't remember the last time I've read "race riots" somewhere else so I'm not familiar with the term. I honestly couldn't see the joke and it frustrated me that I couldn't immediately see it as funny like others and I had do research to get it. At least, I know "race riots" isn't people raging about stuff in general in stands of a race track. My interpretation is more entertaining IMO. My mom has told me I sometimes have trouble distinguishing some jokes as jokes when I'm see/hear them.SWillie! wrote: At first I was gonna guess that you weren't from the US, but I see you are... so what's your excuse?

Sarah Silverman Talks Vanellope and her book on Graham Norton with Mark Whalberg and Michael Fassbender.

I'd recommend watching from about 15 minutes onward. There's some hilarious stuff!

They're actually re-airing this episode on Comedy Central right now. MY GOD is Mark Wahlberg annoying. He's annoyed whenever the spotlight is not on him. Sarah is flawlessly funny so she deals with it using comedy, but if it had been any other less funny guest, he would have come off as a REAL asshole. Michael Fassbender looks completely disconnected from what's going on.
Sorry, off topic. I love Sarah and Vanellope is such a great character. I would have never in a million years thought Sarah Silverman would be perfect for a Disney animated film.

Wahlberg was half cut by the time they came to filming, we were just laughing our heads off watching this episode of the chat show. This is before I got to see the film as well. Now, I knew who Sarah was (I'd met her at SDCC a few years back to boot), but my brother didn't really, and he was definitely impressed with her. The best way to describe her to him was by saying she is quite like my girlfriend (similarities, both Jewish, both went to college in NY, both got the same attitude), so it made it easier for him heh.

I don't know if I'd call her perfect (I'm sure there are others out there who could've done as well or better), but Vanellope was actually my favorite part of the film--and that really was the last thing I expected going into it.PatrickvD wrote: I would have never in a million years thought Sarah Silverman would be perfect for a Disney animated film.

I think that is what I most liked about Wreck it Ralph because you came in expecting a Shrek like movie but after actually watching it really does have a lot of heart, thought, and carefully researched stuff put into it.It wasn't half baked but fully and carefully made with some of the best ingredients an animated movie could offer.I liked that they played around with some movie tropes and averted a lot of the most obvious ones.I liked that Felix and Ralph were good guys.I also like the platonic father/daughter bond that Ralph and Vanellope have.Venellope on the surface is kinda on the surface looks like she is going to be that kid appeal character that trys to hard to be funny but when the movie goes on you see a girl who is coping with the situation she is in with being upbeat.Vanellope might be vulgar at times but that masks a girl who is an outcast and can only rely on herself to keep her spirits up.
