Question: When did Disney tv Animation start shooting their shows in widescreen?
It was my understanding that this practice did not start until "Kim Possible" in the middle of the 2000's. Shows like "House of Mouse," "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command," "Jungle Cubs" and "The Weekenders" were originally shot in fullscreen. Am I right?
If someone who knows could share any insight on this and preferably not use Wikipedia as their source, that would be awesome. Thanks! I'm trying to get to the bottom of this issue.

I believe House Of Mouse was made in widescreen. On relation to the topic, when it came to the Mickey Mouse Works shorts, I think a batch was made in widescreen while another batch was made in full screen. I oughta know, because Donald's Rocket Ruckus was made in full screen but was matted for the House Of Mouse (I watched one and the other).
A couple of the Mickey Mouse Works shorts were even shown theatrically. I remember seeing a Pluto cartoon in front of My Favourite Martian (don't worry, I'm still apologising to my parents for asking to see that piece of crud).Mickeyfan1990 wrote:I believe House Of Mouse was made in widescreen. Maybe it's just poor staging but a lot of the characters actions are being cut off on the sides in that short. I have no other evidence to back this up but I believe Donald's Rocket Ruckus was produced in widescreen. I just watched the short on youtube in 4x3 and when it zooms out at the end to show the House of Mouse stage, the added artwork from the sides is visible. I thought I read somewhere that all of the House of Mouse shorts were produced in HD widescreen with potential theatrical release in mind.Mickeyfan1990 wrote:On relation to the topic, when it came to the Mickey Mouse Works shorts, I think a batch was made in widescreen while another batch was made in full screen.
