Disney Channel Original Movie?

Can somebody help me with a Disney Channel Movie title? All I can remember was it was about a boy who had devorced parents. His dad starts dating a woman. The kid is a huge fan of monsters. And it turns out that the dad's girlfriend is a green, scaley monster. Can any body give me any information about this forgotten Disney Channel movie? :?

Stepmonster. The dad was played by Alan Thicke, and to kill the monster, you had to play the violin (silly, isn't it?).

No. I mean the only way to kill me is to play the violin as well. Oops :huh: I should have not said that. :oops:
