New Site: WaltDisneyResource.net - Need suggestions!
I just got a new domain name.
http://www.WaltDisneyResource.net
I got it because I want to seperate my Disney site from my personal site, and I'd like some feedback from you guys.
First, I'd like any suggestions on what I should do with the design. I want to eliminate all elements of my personal site, so it is totally Disney.
Secondly, any suggestions on a new color scheme?
Thirdly, what other content would you like to see? A list of all Donald, Goofy, Pluto, & MM, cartoons is an option. Any other ideas? I like lists!

Lookin' good, and it's a great site, btw. The only suggestion I have to offer right now is the header, where it says Walt Disney Resource. The color and font are a little dull, so maybe change those? Everything else looks great.

An in-depth look at Disney's censorship over the years?Joshua Clinard wrote:Thirdly, what other content would you like to see? A list of all Donald, Goofy, Pluto, & MM, cartoons is an option. Any other ideas? I like lists!
For example, the attempt to hold up Fahrenheit 9/11, one of the finest films of the year?

I especially like the Snopes link! I've been there before and all those DIsney myths were proven wrong and explained. The picture gallery at Snopes is also pretty funny and awesome and gross and weird. Speaking of galleries...
I think a gallery of the Animated Disney DVD cover art or a gallery of movie posters would be great, but you kind of have to find some first. At many Harry Potter fansites, they post/link really good fanfictions. Then again you have to have a lot of time to find good ones and read through them. I dunno, just my suggestion!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Over the weekend I have spent a lot of time removing all the elements of the site that belonged to the personal site, and I think it looks much better being an all Disney site. The only thing left for me to really change now is the color scheme, since I don't want to have two sites with the same color scheme. If you guys have any ideas about which colors would look best, I'd appreciate it. Also, the Disney Channel Movies page has been updated.
As far as the film list being updated, you can see my answer to that question here

So far, so good. I like that one quite a bit better. The pics aren't working, though. I figure that's probably intentional, but I thought I'd say something just in case.

That's just a one page dev site, so images aren't needed. I will probably go with this though, it seems several people like it.
If you don't, this is your last chance to voice your opinion. I will make a decision later today. There's still time to come up with an altenate scheme if people don't like it.

If you want to call it The Disney Resource you MUST have the film list updated.
There will not be any update in printed form of that book in the near future, so you can NOT have that as a explaination to why the list stops in 1998.
The features released after that is not hard to find on the Internet!

Chernabog is right. In one of the issues of Disney Magazine, they said Dave Smith would have online updates to his book rather than published new editions. If you can't find what you're looking for, just e-mail him (askdave@disney.com) . I've e-mailed him before and got an answer in just a few days!Chernabog wrote:![]()

New Website
I just took a peak at your Disney Website. I can only say one thing WOW! You have put a lot of work into it. I think that you need to do a special segment dedicated to Live Action Disney I am a big fan of Classic LIve Action and I own almost all of the Old Disney Live Action Films. So that would be my suggestion and start doing reviews. And start a Movie Poster section to post pics of the movie posters of the movies. And when you get your website really going you can expand and start a forum a chat. Just go wild with your website. Lookin Grrrrrrrrreat

I have made a lot of changes and additions to the site during the last week, and wondered if anyone else would take a look and make further suggestions.
Google has dropped all of my Disney pages from their search results because I moved them to the new domain, and the I'm not getting much traffic from them because they haven't indexed the new domain yet. So my traffic is down considerably. Does anyone know of any Disney sites that do link exchanges?

Did you trying laughingplace, intercot, or mouseplanet.com? They're pretty popular sites who believe have link pages. Also, you could e-mail SaveDisney.com to ask to put a link to your site.Joshua Clinard wrote:Google has dropped all of my Disney pages from their search results because I moved them to the new domain, and the I'm not getting much traffic from them because they haven't indexed the new domain yet. I like that you added a list of Disney Channel Original movies. I have never found such a complete list that even goes back to the 80's! Good job! Just a little nit-picking: You missed a very recent one: Stuck in the Suburbs (2003)Joshua Clinard also wrote:I have made a lot of changes and additions to the site during the last week, and wondered if anyone else would take a look and make further suggestions.
If you want to add a little pizzazz and you have some time, I still suggest adding pictures. They add decoration and help people remember what the things actually are in all the lists
p.s. Was browsing your other site...gotta love Judy Blume and Roald Dahl. I love their books! Even more than Harry Potter!...OMG! I totally remember 3-2-1 Contact and Square One and Carmen Sandiago! We watched that when we were really little on PBS! My favorite was the one with the two adult sleuths who solved mysteries. I forget which one they were on though.
