I rarely say this to you but I agree 1000000%Disney Duster wrote:They should look as they do in the films. From Cinderella's dress color to it's whole design to Snow White's sleeves to Philip's hat to Ariel's human dress to the castles and Cinderella's coach, everything should look as it did in the films.

Interestingly, the costumes are where the imagineers are least involved. They are more Entertainment based, and so the costume designers are the main source of creativity. I assume there are imagineers at least involved, but unlike the attractions or facades, they probably don't have as much creative input. And you're right, it shows.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:I think the Disneylands themselves are very much true reflections of the films ... all the intricate detail is almost fanatical from the imagineers...the only thing that they seem to loose the plot on is costumes.

Well, a little creativity is okay, like I like that Cinderella's coach is glass like her slippers, that's cool, but they use way too much "creativity" to make many things not really look like the Disney versions.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:Really? No change whatsoever ?Disney Duster wrote:They should look as they do in the films. They didn't make the castles follow the film to every detail. They went all different so that you hardly recognize them as the ones from the films. They didn't even put the clock in the tower for Cinderella's.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:I think the Disneylands themselves are very much true reflections of the films ... all the intricate detail is almost fanatical from the imagineers...the only thing that they seem to loose the plot on is costumes.

I really like the idea of Pocahontas having feather earrings. I wish she didn't have gems plastered all over her deerhide dress (that would look so tacky in real life and make old pretty dresses made of animal hide and decorated with beads look even better) and I wish she had her old necklace.Sotiris wrote:They finally gave Pocahontas a makeover as well.

Here's something funny to think about: imagine the princesses with lice. People living in castles in the middle ages always had lice and other nasty creepy crawlies getting on them, the food, everything. I wonder what little girls who've had lice would do with that thought.

Yeah, and imagine some of them being heavily scarred from smallpox, as it was pretty common as well.Sky Syndrome wrote: Here's something funny to think about: imagine the princesses with lice.
