I do like the promotional material we have seen for this movie sco far ... Alice In Wonderland level, which is awesome. Did anyone catch the 'Countdown To Oz' trailer on Disney's twitter?

You mean the Storybook boats Emeral City? That's a reference to (their own version of) the first Wizard of Oz I thought.

Also if it is the Back Lot of Disney Studios, it almost looks like a location near the infamous Disney Vault

So far I haven't seen anything about this movie that says "You have to forget about everything else and watch me!!" I'll wait and see what the movie critics that I read have to say about it. Right now they are saying proceed with caution, and let's see what this film is really about.

A sequel to "The Wizard of Oz", I think not. A re-imagining of the original, I think not.

I will probably, at this point, not waste my money on this until the video comes out.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

Maybe that's because it's a prequel.

The trailers explain quite clearly the film is about how the wizard came to Oz and how the Wicked Witch of the West turned evil.

The official sequel to The Wizard Of Oz (1939) is 1971/1974 Journey Back To Oz staring Liza Minnelli, Mickey Rooney, Ethel Merman, Milton Berle, and Danny Thomas.

The Wizard Of Oz (1990) DiC animated series is a semi-sequel of sorts as it plays out like a sequel, but this series makes Oz to be a real world and not just a dream.

I'm super excited for this movie! Everyone over on DMR's facebook thinks that Mila is the Witch of the East. At least there will be a surprise for some people.

Glad to hear some people don't know who the Witch of the West is.
Almost everybody I speak to about the movie already knows who she (probably) is.

Also, even though I know it isn't right, I kind of already accepted Wicked (the musical) as the prequel to the Wizard of Oz. It will probably be a little weird when I watch this movie, because the green witch is Elphaba for me :P

Not that I'm not exicted for this movie, though!

Disney's best marketing campaign in a LONG time.

I foresee a big hit.
