Well, I can tell you that this site is very reliable. If they say it's being released in the summer, then I have no doubt it is, unless Disney changes their minds. I've followed this site for years, and they're very rarely wrong. As for the cover art, I've never seen them use fan art, so I can't explain that one.Lnds500 wrote: This is anything but official. the people over at the digital bits are very very reliable. Though cover art is not official but all cover art is pending until it's about 2 months before it release to be honest.Lnds500 wrote:Someone in here has created this cover! Alsonomad2010 wrote: Nope. That's straight from the digital bits, and they are about as reliable as it gets.
This is anything but official. They clearly don't have a clear release date yet, let alone the cover art.Retail sources also tell us that Disney is planning on releasing The Little Mermaid as a 2D and 3D Diamond Edition on Blu-ray sometime late this summer, following a planned theatrical re-issue in 3D.
Also August is part of summer and maybe Disney is cutting their losses on the whole re-release of 3D and getting over with it sooner than later. Also We all know Disney of the 21st Century is...unpredictable

I know it's reliable. I just pointed out that the release date and cover aren't official yet (a press release would make them official) and used the info they provided to showcase that. In other words, the fact that they had some info (which is not official) didn't make the cover legitimate.nomad2010 wrote:Well, I can tell you that this site is very reliable. If you look back on the past few years of Disney BD releases you will see that they all have new cover art, so the likelihood of them re-using the original teaser poster for the official new cover is highly unlikely.
It's much too early to have that type of info when they haven't even officially released a date. You can't trust everything on the Internet, even if it is posted on thedigitalbits.

Sorry nomad2010, as others have stated, that is simply one of my fan-made covers that I posted on this actual forum a while back. Below is what I put in The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition thread just now..
....yeah, I can vouch that the cover is fanmade...since I made it.
I actually posted it on this forum a while back in Milo's Custom Covers thread. I also posted them on my tumblr. That must be where it got picked up from.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news (Though I appreciate the compliments)
Here is the other one I did using the platinum cover Ariel and the original theatrical poster versions of Flounder and Sebastian...

A rule of thumb I try to remind myself about Cover art for Disney Films. If it looks amazing it's not Disney at 80% of the timeDancingCrab wrote:Sorry nomad2010, as others have stated, that is simply one of my fan-made covers that I posted on this actual forum a while back. I meant it's becoming more common for Disney to not have good cover art that someone on power point can make a better cover than the actual cover.
Though there is hope since Peter Pan's cover art for the Diamond Edition is beautiful
