Custom Disney DVD/Blu Ray covers (Photoshop/creative topic)

Post by monks19 »

Hi everyone. I was wondering, if you were ok that the classics/Walt era films and shorts were to be handled by other companies than Disney itself (EX.: KINO, CRITERION, THUNDERBEANS, etc), what companies would you chose and how would you made the covers & labels of the classic films (Snow White, Pinocchio, Make mine music, etc) interesting for collectors, animation enthousiasts or any young and old serious filmgoers. Show here your preferences, opinions and creativity about the subject.

Let the fun begins :)

PS: I know that there was another topic similar to this, although I felt that that it should be separated the other one, since that discussion about maketing (somehow) is involved.

There is another thread about this but it does not have anything to do with Marketing. If you couldn't find it I'm sure fellow member Sotiris could find it. Sotiris has quite a talent to find old threads. If Sotiris does find it, I'm sure he/she? will post it in this thread for you.

Hi, I already found it and as I told earlyer, I created this new thread because it does have another goal than just creating covers for the sake of it. So I thought that it was wiser not to mix up the two threads since both of them does have different paterns.

I might have created the original thread, I don't remember anymore actually. I have not had time to work on custom DVD cover in a while sadly.

Anyway, I agree, this is a different kind of thread. I'm not the biggest fan of many of Disney's cover art, however some of them look great. I kind of like the up-coming Peter Pan cover, minus the title art.

I just wish Disney was willing to out-source their DVD's as well as the covers!
