WDW New Fantasyland Part II GRAND OPENING!

Post by DancingCrab »

A Continuation of the previous thread
http://www.dvdizzy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25328

And what better day to start the new thread than today, the Official Grand Opening of New Fantasyland. The festivities were kicked off last night by the appearance of an actual flying and fire breathing dragon.

I know people love the original Snow White ride, understandably (I'm a massive fan of the Paris one), BUT I just saw an initial ride through of the 'wild mine ride' and it looks awesome! The track sways and rocks like an actual mine cart, and it seems you can an animatronics section as well, passing though the cottage. Do you think the will reuse the the old figures of the original, or create new sophisticated versions like they have with Ariel and Ursula?

Believe it or not, I was there for the grand reveal of the New Fantasyland. I even met Paige O'Hara, John Musker, Ron Clements and even Jodi Benson and I have the pictures to prove it. ;)

Me and Paige O'Hara

Me with John Musker and Ron Clements. I managed to tell them that I plan to work again with the Disney company, as an actor.

And finally, me with Jodi Benson. It took me longer to find her whereas I met with Paige, John and Ron in front of the castle. I was about to give up on finding Jodi, but I did find her and she was nice enough to get a picture with me. I was so starstruck that I told her she was a major inspiration to me. :)

Jedi, you're a cutie! Does anyone else think Jodi Benson resembles Celine Dion in that picture?

I can't find the video, but Jodi was at the Art of Animation Resort, and signed one of the panels on the chandelier, on some Ariel concept art. It is a really cute video, will try to find it !

On the new WDW (and DLR) official albums there's a medley of music from the Little Mermaid ride. It features a combination of music, sound FX and dialogue to simulate going through the ride, though a little longer. It's fantastic for LM fans and it can be bought off itunes too (album only). The WDW version is longer because it has a bit from the exterior queue music that does not exist in California.

We also know now what the building facing the ride will be. Prince Eric's Village Market will open on the 5th and sell fruit based snacks and beverages.

I haven't seen the video in question, but I took a picture of the artwork earlier this summer.

Type in "official disney world" in the search and it should be the first to come up. No idea if it's offered in the UK but US and Canada have it. Since it's a two CD set it sells for $19.99.

Ahhh ! Beautiful, thank you !

What lovely scoring ... I wonder who did it ? It did say Menken came back in the press release to rearrange the music, so wonder if that still stands ?

Damn UK itunes for being so crap.

My boyfriend has promised me when we get married we can go WDW for our honeymoon.

New Fantasyland looks amazing. I wish I lived in the US for Disneyland and Disneyworld alone.

DisneyJedi you are soooo lucky. But you know that. They are some incredible pictures.
Settling Soul mates? That is grim. And I've played Monopoly alone.

You lucky thing! I've dropped hefty hints to mine that Disneyland is the place I'd like to be proposed to in … I've seen some magical engagements in the Paris parks.

Yes, I believe that's it for now. Now Tomorrowland needs some love.

That would have been my dream but apparently 'Getting engaged in Disneyland would give me false expectations for marriage because Disneyland is full of false happiness' so that didn't turn out. So I got engaged in Rome which was just as good and probably had a few more romantic points attached. It was three years ago and I would imagine that he would probably do it in Disney now.

He is very excited about two weeks in Florida for a honeymoon or a 10 year anniversary celebration (whatever comes first).
I think the Florida sun will kill me.
