That teaser was included on The Princess and the Frog Blu-ray which was released on March 16, 2010. The film itself was released on November 24, 2010.

If anyone wants me to stop posting this sort of thing, please tell me and I will.

Some comments from the insider:

"which highlights what a basketcase this movie has become for WDAS. You don't bring a new director on board less than a year before its premiere. I was told last week that Buck had been sacked entirely so I guess they changed their minds with so little time to go before release.

Pixar kicked Brenda Chapman off Brave more than 18 months before the film was due to be released."

On Lasseter:

"He is never there these days. A friend of mine is a producer on an upcoming movie that is in development and he hasn't seen Lasseter since May.

Too busy hawking his wine and goofing around in the parks. I really wonder whether he is getting sidelined."

That's odd indeed. It means the management wasn't satisfied with Buck's direction.
I was told last week that Buck had been sacked entirely so I guess they changed their minds with so little time to go before release.
It does seem that Lee will be the main director and Buck will now have a secondary, less hands-on role. If it were the other way around, I don't think they would have bothered issuing a press release.

This is exactly like the "schetched Frozen logo" from last august's Destination D! So whatever unseen images from that event that was described by attendees, those will be the final designs.

It's a really nice logo! I think more detail will be added to it further down the line, like that of PatF, Tangled and WIR.

qindarka wrote:Is it true that Jennifer Lee will be the primary director of the film and that Chris Buck was nearly sacked? Been hearing this from an insider from a forum who had also mentioned some weeks ago that the film was behind schedule. Any truth in this?

Also, were there problems with the story of production as a whole that led to the appointment of a new director?
Steve Hulett wrote:I honestly cannnot say what the internal dynamics of the production titled Frozen are.

I was told when I was last inside the hat building that there were still "story issues" on the feature, and that John Lasseter was down (on that particular day) to review sequences, also to look at other features in work. He was also looking at various shorts in development.

In other words, it was a typical Lasseter work-day in Burbank. He flies down from up north, he spends time at the studio, he bops over to Glendale to look at Imagineering projects or Disney Toon features, he drops the corporate car off and goes back to Northern California.

Once in a looong while I run into him and say "hi," but I really have no idea what his routine is beyond what I hear second or third hand. (In other words, I'm a union guy far out of the loop, picking up scuttlebutt like everybody else. Most of the scuttlebutt I keep to myself.)

As for Chris Buck and whether he was/is in danger of not being the picture's director, I have no idea and I haven't heard. Chris is an experienced and talented animation top-kick; I think that's why he's still on the feature.

While it's not as fine as the "Tangled" logo, its still not a bad logo. At least is better than the previous logo.

I lost all interest in this movie when I heard is was a comedy and not a serious film. Now that I know it's not even hand drawn, I won't be buying a ticket.

"Tangled" was also marketed as a comedy and while it did have some comic relief, it still had some serious moments.

Yeah, and we haven't even seen any footage of the movie yet. We have no clue on how they're planning on advertising it either.

In other words, a year before the movie releases really isn't a good time to decide whether or not you want to see it.

Hunchback was also advertised as a comedy in some trailers. Which is pretty laughable of course.

Oh totally, I always crack up at the part where Frollo sniffs on Esmeralda's hair as he imagines raping her. So funny. :)

So what? A movie which has serious moments can't have comedic moments as well?

Most Disney movies, and Western Animation as a whole, can be considered to be comedies.

Most of them don’t have talking snowmen though.
