Cinderella's rags not incorrect on newest Blu Ray?

Post by jade »

I've heard alot of people complain that Cinderella's ''rags''/dress had a color change during the newest restoration but in the trailer the top is black and the bottom is still brown.

Was it corrected before release? If not why is it correct in the trailer?

I credit it to myself that I took the title the way it was intended...

Okay, first, what trailer? The one that plays on this page?:

Second, her dress was incorrectly colored in this scene:

But it's not incorrectly colored in ALL scenes. I guess you didn't read my whole post on the matter? Or I'm just too confusing? lol

The Aristocats Blu Ray trailer for Cinderella.

I was under the impression that incorrect color change was throughout the ''rags'' portion of the movie and not just in one scene.

Has Disney been made aware yet?

Hasn't this been an issue since she started appearing on dvd?

Do we really need another topic for this? I know threads can't be merged anymore, but can we lock this one, since we have an active thread specifically for the mistakes in Cinderella's restoration?

I don't see anything wrong with it.

DITTO

If there is a color difference in the shade of brown on the rag it certainly isn't a difference compared or worth panicking over compared to to movies like Lion King, Beauty and the Beat and many others

Can someone please clarify the issue with Beauty & the Beast. I don't remember that discussion. Were there major discrepancies in color?

Actually, it is QUITE a big difference.

THe difference in color in cinderella's rags proves they film has been painted over, not just "restored". And this is a film whose makers are all dead and cannot defend it.

The issue with Beauty and the Beast is about filters and tints... nobody has painted over a specific scene, or changed any of the animation. Or painted over the lines.

And whatever changes are made to BatB, the makers are still alive and employed by Disney. They have a say in the matter. Not saying its ok for them to butcher their film w tints and filters... but I believe it to be far less of an offense.

I agree with Marce

This is a big issue and it should not be belittled. It should be taken great care of.

But anyway, no, Disney hasn't resolved this issue. I wrote to them but never got anything back. I have no idea how many people tried to also help, but the forum member enigmawing talked to Don Hahn about it. However, she never told me what he said before she left for a while and now I don't know where she is!

Swillie, even though I wouldn't call the old thread active anymore (what happened? everyone just left it alone after awhile) I will allow the thread to be locked when I clear something up:

jade, can you please go to the link I provided and see if that trailer on the web site is the same as the one that came with the Aristocats that you talked about?

I looked and yes it is the exact same trailer as the one on the Aristocats dvd!

Is that Illene Woods voice?

I thought that the color issue was strictly related to the newest issues of the movie. But now i'm hearing that the Platnium version has the same color change?

So there are no dvds of Cinderella without this terrible mistake?

No that's not Ilene Woods voice. It's probably Jennifer Hale, the one who does Cinderella's voice for all Cinderella movies and products these days.

And yes, this problem happened on the 2005 DVD, too, so there is no DVD without the mistakes. Unless you get a bootleg DVD that has the Laserdisc version on it.

I found her Devian Art website. Perhaps you could contact her through that.

Thanks disneyboy, I think if she isn't here she wouldn't be there either but maybe I will try.

Anyway, moderators, this thread can be locked.
